Zubb 1061 Posted August 16, 2021 Last night I was slurping some Traeger smoked ribs, drinking Helix Brew, mixed with a little whisky sampling with the neighbors, when the bat-line lit up! It was a text from Rob at 8-Ball tire. In bold letters the text read HELP! Ride Buddy Needed ASAP. Well I was neck deep in ribs bones and empty beers cans and just getting into a good Rye I had brought back from Colorado, but…. …… 7:30 am was decided and I went straight to bed. The morning came a bit too early but I rallied none the less. Rob mentioned that he had a couple extra bottles of water and some bananas for snacks “Cool”, let’s ride He only had half a day so Otay was the call and off we sped to Pio Pico. Upon arrival we both stabbed at the mode buttons ‘til we reached enduro Pro and then rolled up the trail, spraying gravel at each corner. An orange colored smoker passed us on the way to Doghouse and I wondered if it was someone from our club. By the time we hit the towers it was fairly boiling due to that darn humidity coming up from Baja. Ive done this ride dozens of times and I always enjoy the ride and view from up top. TJ and Baja were buried under a heavy layer of brown smog today. Time for a snack. Oh sh*t! Looks like it’s banana pudding. So we filled the box with a pile of trash left by other thoughtful visitors and sped off to Gun Club, then to the gate just above Marron Valley, Then headed back home.
