Lower Storm Canyon Loop

Headed up Viejas  speedway to Boulder Creek .

Three Sisters is open also Cedar Creek..

 Carved & wound up engineers with surgical type precision. Went up past Lake Cuernavaca  and it started to get chilly. 

 

This is one of my favorite spots to take a break. 

 

I found this neat shady area on the trail , nice and warm prefect for a noon time ciesta just inside the Anza Borrego State Patk.

Mormon Battalion Trail est 1772.

This water tanker has wooden wheels...approx 75mi from Alpine Carls jr.

 

This Aermotor pumped the water out of the ground located near Hawi to water the cows over 100yrs ago. 

 

This is the view from Hawi towards Mnt Laguna.

 

Continued on from here over to overland Stage Route . Accidentally ended up on district38 race track going east towards plaster city 20 miles of whoops. then turned south into painted Gorge.. 

Running low on fuel I headed under the 8 freeway at the Sand Bar followed sand wash to Chevron I had approximately 1/2 gallon fuel left  when I  rolled in, hungry from the trail and sand wash riding...

 Fuel cost $4.45gallon . 

 

Got fuel at ocotillo chevron 124 miles from alpine Ca.
