Celebration of Life for Schwinn 5/17

Recommended Posts

Been in touch with Schwinn's wife Lori.

Date will be May 17th.

As soon as I know more, I'll share the details.

I hope we get a big turnout from SDAR to show support for him and his family.

I'm pretty sure lots of motorcycles showing up will be just fine.

Thank you for posting this, Randy; it is a work day for me but I am going to try very hard to at least pop in.

I just read this and wanted to share this picture.  It was one of those let’s meet and work on stuff together.

10 or so people showed up at his place.

Generous and just a good guy.

RIP

I'll be there. I'll bring the YZ and try to find some way to park close by and ride there.

Just an update, the Facebook invite has the times listed as 11:30 - 2:00. I'm sure you'll be welcome at 11:00 if you do show up then.

I won't have the bike with me.

Nice service for our riding brother.  Was hoping to see more of our members show to support a member who has been active in the club for so long.

I grabbed a few extra " Shut up and Ride"  wrist bands in case some members wanted one.

I got there late and was able to catch the slide show.  There was a pretty good crowd still; really nice to see for Schwinn.  Taken way too soon.....

Hey Schwinn,

So I took your advice and shut up,,,And Rode in honor of your influence on our community.

At Sundown, I see you floating the Ridgelines of Glamis with your  paddle bike,, Pink Flag Flying.

Thanks for the inspiration

Wow ...

just way to early to go...

i met him 15 years ago for the first time totally unaware at a so mission beach bar,

I was wearing a Moto shirt, and he came up & handed me his SDAR business  card...

and said  :  “let’s ride sometime” and .... this clubs cool!

This is crazy, cause that is the reason I know about SDAR!

Rest in piece ...

Yep, sorry we missed it too....but ended up getting fired up for Overland Expo since the continuation of our RTW trip is only 7 months away...

We had been planning on going to Overland Expo for months, which conflicted with Steve's Celebration of Life. Then, I didn't think we were going to go to the Expo without our sidecar rig since we didn't have it back in time.

But, at the last minute I was debating whether to go to Overland Expo because I wanted to attend more seminars and refresh some for our RTW trip, see my world traveling friends and make new ones, meet new people. Car camping was sold out and I would have to motel it....BUT THEN I saw Eric Hall from XLADV post on Facebook that he was driving out there and was looking for someone to share the ride and gas and had a vehicle camping pass so I said BINGO....I get to go to Overland plus save a bunch of money by camping.

So, we went to Overland Expo....I know Steve would understand.
