Fun ride with a "well seasoned" team. Video is coming.

The slab was a Rake Station.

I will find that tank!

Google search found this. I even signed up to see if I could get any more info location, pics, etc., but no luck.

According to the waypoint, the tank is in Fault Wash

The tank is a little farther east. Next time we will find it. If we head south from the rake station slab and hang a hard left at the next major wash it will be just about dead east of the slab

We've probably ridden by it many times.

What’s a Rake Station?

Other than a great photo location.

If you look close at the Google map you can see some tracks wandering accross the dez. Look south east of the slab. Could these be the fossilized tank tracks?

A Place where rakes hang out,  of course!

Run you cursor over the download symbol near the photo info on the Wikiloc map and the Track coordinates pop up.

Great location and a great couple of shots

“Rake stations” were constructed to assist in accuracy training. A rake station is a four-posted tower in which observers would track the accuracy of bullets and bombs with the use of a four-tined instrument calibrated to line up the observer’s vision with the airfield. When bombs or bullets hit the ground they create dust “pick-ups,” by which an observer could gauge the accuracy of the shot with the rake. (explanation by Barbarella Fokos)

Will there be an Extraction Effort once the tank is found.

The pop up is a little fussy.

Amgems,

Thank You!   Capturing the Flow.  Crazy how it take a few minutes to locate trails we have done 50 times.  That Paradise stuff is Beautiful.
