Bagstr 287 Posted April 10, 2019 Bought a Good One - RT Systems USB-57B from HRO. System Requirements - Windows 10 etc. Download Software. This is for the ubiquitous FT-270R Yaesu I use the MacBook Pro which may Not be supported by the RT Systems cable. We will see if my Buddy Jim's software works with this set-up. May need to download this cable specific software. KJ6FRA

PbdBlue 46 Posted April 10, 2019 RT systems cable may only work with RT software. I seem to recall that being the case but not 100% sure. Basically when shopping for a cable you want one that has a genuine FTDI chip in it like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Amcrest-Baofeng-Programing-Radios-Authentic/dp/B015YEM5C2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=baofeng+ftdi&qid=1554933149&s=gateway&sr=8-2). The knockoffs will work with Win 7/10 but it requires some fiddling around with legacy drivers. FTDI chip is supported by Win 7/10.
Bagstr 287 Posted April 16, 2019 This is the List of Supported radios for CHIRP Software - The FT-270R is missing in action. Buying the ADMS-270 Software and see where that leads.
