dirt dame 559 Posted February 27, 2019 So, since I am short, I end up having a few low speed or no speed tip overs on my bike. Not a problem, except for the fact that I usually end up going over onto the left side. That means that my right knee ends up against the hot exhaust. That is exactly what happened at the Dash last weekend. I have just ordered a heat shield for my bike, but I wish to have my melted pants repaired by somebody, a professional tailor or seamstress who is familiar with motorcycle clothing and the materials that they are made of. Maybe they can add some leather to the knee to replace the nylon that is now gone. Anybody out there know of such a a person or business?

Ptkatoomer 114 Posted February 27, 2019 I've had pretty good luck using the local dry-cleaners for several pants repairs.

dirt dame 559 Posted February 28, 2019 Well....I may have not been able to find a clothing repair person yet, but at least my cheap insurance against future meltings arrived today.
Huntndogs 114 Posted February 28, 2019 I think leather is a great option for that repair. Maybe a custom auto upholstery shop? Especially if you can show them an example of how it should look..Just thinking outside the box.
