I booked a room with 2 beds thinking 1 of my useless friends would tag along. They all had weak excuses like being in NZ or AUS or prerunning the Parker 400 and ----.

So.... I have a spare bed.

Yes, the primitive suspension, and archaic styling...its like riding a time machine made of lead.

Probably not a problem if you can ride in deep sand and rocks.

I sent out some maps and tracks. may have missed some guys. Let me know if you want them.

Please don't share these tracks and maps publicly. Me and another guy put all this stuff together a few years back and he mentioned that he did not want these shared. Thanks

See you Saturday.

Kick stands up and rolling at 0800

A very important thing about this ride: Between Mecca and Blythe you will need approx 135 miles gas range.

Please read the first post.

And this thread: http://dualsport-sd.com/forums/index.php?/topic/24697-thoughtful-and-interesting/

!!! Wait for the guy behind you at all turns. Make sure he sees you before you take off. !!!

There are bailouts to I-10 if you need to get off the dirt

The first GPX file had some confusing track names and numbering. I re-did it and sent the new one out via PM's. It is a good idea for as many riders as possible to have this on their GPS for backup. Let me know if you need it. Please only share with other riders on this ride.

Meet up at Ranger Station early enough so that you will be ready to roll at 0800. You don't want to be the guy we have to wait for, because if you are "that guy", we will make fun of you for 2 days straight.

Head Count. Please let me know if I'm missing anyone.

amgems - Jim - in

paulmbowers - Paul - in

kkug - Ken - in

Kiwi Wayne - Wayne - in

Moeny - Ben - in

MacDuncan - John - in (if bike is ready)

The weather looks good we will see lows of 40 highs of 75. Layers.

Just to keep the honest people honest. I am bringing a small cable and lock to lock bikes up at night. It will handle 2 -3 bikes. Might want to bring another. Never had a problem. Usually leave bikes right in front of office.

In my past experience with the ultra posh Motel 6, they usually don't have shampoo. If you want to keep your locks luxurious, might want to pack a small bottle.

Will reservations be required for the dining room and spa treatments?

I’d  like to pre-order my soufflé for dessert.

As a part of the Platinum Elite Package the dining room arrangements and spa treatments are already taken care of Mr Bowers. You may want to delay your visit to the spa and dining room until after the hosted champagne welcome reception at poolside. I've contacted the concierge and the souffle will be ready for you.

Have done that before. It was snowing. Don't think we'll need to. Good weather, well lit, high visibility, Clerk is right there. Thanks Chris.
