2004 epic ride !

Photos from San Diego to Moab trip, 2004...3 of us, me on a Ducati 900 Elefant, Maddog Mike Miani on a R1200GS and Ron Spicer on a KTM 640 LC4 Adventure...what an epic ride. Some of what we did:
Grand Canyon Toroweap Overlook, parts of the Great Western Trail, the entire White Rim Trail in Canyonlands Nat'l Park, Moab, Slickrock Bike Trail, Hells Revenge Slickrock Trail, John Burr Trail, Capitol Reef Nat'l Park and many more....

Yep, we did about half of the Slickrock Bike Trail on our Adventure Bikes ! People said they'd never seen big bikes on the Slickrock Trail before.

Wow, much respect for doing some of those sections on a loaded big bike.

Really cool! Looks like some seriously challenging big bike riding.

Seriously,   DucRad that was a major accomplishment.  Wasn't it great to be young and not know any better?

Good lord.  I've mountain biked much of that stuff.  A trials bike would have been more appropriate... but a GS?

If you've never been there, you can't imagine how steep that stuff is!  Kudo's to your guys.

That's why we call him Maddog Mike.

I learned a lot from him riding the big bikes years ago, especially in sand.
