Am I correct that the Toll road starts at the Banner horseshoe bend and tops out in the Kentwood Pines neighborhood. If so, that is behind a locked gate. Possible, it's been a while since I was there

bikeslut 1 Posted February 16, 2018 spyder... yeah... I may remember that trail; it does look as the one of my helicopter ride. I have visited that trail since (from the bottom) and the group stopped at the same place I stopped that day... but... we went in the morning... early... from the bottom. and turned around when we got stymied. Schwinn and pasta were having an annual pilgrimage of the trail on the dash weekend for a while.

MauleR 4 Posted February 19, 2018 How difficult is the Mt Laguna- Butterfield portion?
Ken S 164 Posted February 20, 2018 About 1 mile of steep rutted out down hill that’s a one way trip for most riders. I turned off the bike and pushed thru a few short sections I’ll ride thru them next time Nothing extreme. Wouldn’t try it on an adventure bike.
350thumper 336 Posted February 20, 2018 Id do it on an adventure bike once. If you have a 650 you should be fine. Just have someone with you. I may do it again next weekend if you interested in it.
MauleR 4 Posted February 20, 2018 Ok cool thanks for the info! I unfortunately work weekends so I am a Thursday or Friday rider with my current schedule. I live in Julian close to where the banner toll road comes out at the top and have ridden that several times but never really knew exactly where or how difficult that other trail was. One of these days I'll try to tag along with someone if they will put up with my noobish skills and biggish bike.
