isde97 29 Posted November 29, 2016 He was on my minute at the Steam Donkey, I didn't know he was Barrett Brown's son. Barrett Brown- architect of one of the more brutal ISDE qualifiers I rode. Rodney Smith and Ty Davis didn't drop route points. Steve Hatch and Larry Roessler did. Fortunately, I broke a chain on the second day before it really got nasty. Some of the sections are named in the video- "Sticks and Stones" "Bungee Jump" "The Plunge" you can imagine what they were like. Even the heroes were bulldogging their bikes down some of the hills. This was 1994 and I swore up and down I would never go back. In 1997, I had to go back to get another qualification day in. I spent most of the two days riding around in dread of the nastiness we all knew was coming. It turns out, it was a lot of fun to ride there when it wasn't pouring rain.
