I'm planning on being out there for this one as well, also in the senior novice class and the creaky knee club. Just Sunday as well. There's quite a few guys in that class, should be a lot of fun.

Looks like temps will be moderate for the race... Mid 60's in the am, high of 84. Start hydrating now none-the-less!

Temps will be Moderate? Dont kid yourselves. Its going.to be grueling.

Dry HOT Dusty and physically demanding . Plus the 3 x30 miles loops are cut out of one of the more harsh environments in san diego. Which means you will be exhausted and dizzy with sweat dripping out of every pore in your body. Visibility is reduced to 20 percent be because of all the other racers dust. Theres no time to stop and drink water, there will be a air ambulance on standby for the poor guys that need to be rushed to the hospital.

And when you pit theres no shade with a tree to lean your bike on while the lollies catchup on how the rides going so far. Your lucky too slam back a bottle water and refuel.

Youll be too tired too eat and too dumbstricken to talk right. Its going to require every fabric of your being working in perfect sincronicity to survive.

And your bike shid be in top working order because it will be pushed harder than it ever has over forgotten ,beaten , and abused terrain that will send you flying to your perril if not navigated maticuously.

The weather shud.be nice though.

Unofficial results. They told me I came in 3rd.

Did my pit stop in 2 minutes this time. Would have been faster except I had to pee.

Large turn out today. Probably 15 - 20 bikes in senior class.

I felt like I rode the best I ever have and the RMZ was running happy happy.

Can't wait to do it again in two weeks.

I was out there the day before anxios to race.

I took my gf riding out there on quads and she hit a bump and flipped it real good.

So we were at the ER till wee hours of the race morning.= no racey for Darrey.

* Note to self ... Dont take your gf riding at the event the day before in case she hurts herself.

Good job to Kenny for racing real good. ..proud of you.

Hope your gf heals up ok, 350thumper. I stopped for a downed rider right after the bomb run, he and his bike did 2 or 3 cartwheels right in front of me. He ended up being banged up but nothing serious, so I took off again, pretty much in last place. I ate a bunch of dust the first lap, but I felt like I was riding really well, and passed a bunch of people to get back up to 35th OA. I thought they told me I was the 3rd senior novice also, but maybe not. I'm thinking I lost about 5 minutes total, curious to see where I would've been without that extra time. OTB has an actual working electronic scoring system, so I should be able to see pretty soon.

I also responded to the down rider on the bomb run.

He was young and took a bit of a fall... luckily his wrist took most of it....

Next race is Apr 25/26 @ Pole Line near Superstition...

Official results came out. I was 4th or 5th.

Chad pulled a no show.

Chad's buddy Courtney and I raced each other and pitted together. Felt good to finish ahead of a guy 12 years younger and 80lbs lighter than me.

I'm in this to have fun and finish.

SD Lineman. Come pit with us next race.

Are you on a KTM?

I tried keeping up with you when you passed me but was trying hard just to not piss my pants on every bump.

Lesson learned, only have one 24 ounce coffee on the way there. Not three.

Hey Ken, I ride a Yamaha WR 450, #63s. I'm part of the Top Notch Racing club, we're a pretty small club, but it's a great bunch of guys if you ever want to come pit with us, or just next to us. I ended up 34th OA, 3rd in class.

Edit: My first name is Jeff, sorry forgot that part. Hope to meet everyone out there sometime.
