Carlsbad fire!

Recommended Posts

There is now a fire burning out of control in Carlsbad. Need help please post up. I am going to load the toyhauler with some stuff just to be ready to go. I know they are redirecting some aircraft to attack this thing, so lets hope they get it before we lose the battle with this one.

Fortunately for me there is a lagoon between me and the fire. Hopefully it cannot jump the lagoon. My wife will be home early so I can go get my trailer and help others if needed. So many fires out control and they dont have enough manpower to fight them all.

I just got home from being on the front lines of the Poinsettia fire since 11:00 am this morning. It was quite intense for the first couple hours as the fire pushed west very quickly. Then the wind all but stopped, which gave first responders an opportunity to knock it down quite a bit. Then the wind turned on-shore and pushed the fire back east bound, which created a whole new set of problems as far as evacuating was concerned. I took some pics just don't have time to post them up right now. I'll be back out there at 0400 hours in the morning so I've got to get some shut eye.

Of all the fires, the San Marcos fire will end up being the most significant when this is all said and done, mark me word
