tvscum 43 Posted March 1, 2014 This site lets you draw a map, and it will snap to roads AND TRAILS. Too bad it uses Mapquest. It lets you "export" the track to whatever format you like. http://bikeroutetoaster.com/BRTWebUI

SICVIC 0 Posted March 1, 2014 So this thing does not support a satellite view then? Only gives you known trail/road options?? Am I on track here? If so, what other ways are there to route for Garmins for areas that do not have mapped trails. Example would be if I wanted to make a track of Corral doing the Fire Road but then cut across Ranger. What site provides the functions this one does, but allows you to see those type of trails from above. Anyone understand anything I just wrote????
tvscum 43 Posted March 1, 2014 Yes, that site desperately needs a satellite view. You can use the satellite view on Google Maps, but I don't think it will snap to roads or trails unless you "get directions." Frustrating. This site was supposed to have it all, but it's still not up and running: www.Ridingsocial.com
recycled 0 Posted March 1, 2014 Check out http//www.rallynavigator.com if you are interested in making your own roll charts. Downside is that it requires membership.
tvscum 43 Posted March 6, 2014 I guess the OLD Google maps will allow you to draw a line that snaps to roads. I just found this out. Then you can export as KML. Advantage is you can use satellite view to manually draw lines that don't follow roads.
