Boston Mangler 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Anyone Using This?? Seems pretty darn perfect for what we do!! Any input would be great! Thanks
Goofy Footer 539 Posted February 26, 2014 I believe the Voyager uses a different gps data file (not .gpx). In my experience the Voyagers have been less reliable than a standard Garmin 76/78cx. The Voyagers definitely look cool and have a clean looking mount but I've seen more trouble than positives with them. The Garmin can be used for other purposes like hiking/boating and can be moved from bike to bike. For example, at the upcoming http://www.rallydiabolico.com/ the organizer is mandating Garmin only. I had some issues with the Voyagers and off brand GPS units at the Baja Rally. I believe the Voyager is used/mandated in the King of the Hammers race but that is because Trail Tech sponsors it iirc. Your mileage may vary.
Boston Mangler 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Thanks! I am also a huge Garmin fan and still have my 276C that i have ran on 5 different bikes. Was just thinking of going with something a little slimmer! I will probably just stick with the tried and true 276c! It is over 10 years old, been up and down the baja coast 2x, been in probably a dozen high speed wrecks, and still works perfect!
