Ocotillo Wells — The superintendent of the popular Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area has been placed on paid administrative leave while an investigation is conducted concerning shredded documents found behind the park’s headquarters.

Superintendent Kathy Dolinar was placed on “administrative time off” on Oct. 4.

California Department of Parks and Recreation spokesman Roy Stearns confirmed a report in the Sacramento Bee that the investigation revolves around documents that were found to have been shredded last month after a department wide directive went out this summer not to destroy any paperwork.

In July, park’s department director Ruth Coleman resigned after $54 million were found in two park operating funds, including nearly $33.5 in the department’s Off Highway Vehicle fund. Officials said it appears the department kept the funds secret for years by reporting false balances to the state Department of Finance.

She shredded documents right? After they told her not to? Discipline for sure...

Do they think she was embezzling?

Was she skimming for personal gain?

Was she not reporting it to the finance committe knowing they would take it back for other budget issues unrelated to OHV?

Was she not spending the money just to hoarde it, or was she spending it on improving the park?

Not that any of that is right, just wondering

I think you all should not be making assumptions when you don't know anything and the facts are not out.

Kathy Dolinar has been a friend to the Off-Road Community and been to many SDORC meetings to keep informed of many local off-road issues.

As stated in the article......

“It’s an active investigation,” Sterns said. “We don’t want to prejudge. We don’t know if what’s in those shredded documents is of importance. ... We don’t know if anybody did anything wrong.”

Always a possibility they were just trying to "hang on to" some green sticker money, seeing sacramento KEEPS STEALING IT....and THAT we DO KNOW!!!

they are the SCUMS.....don't know how they can keep getting away with that ......specific fees from specific people for specific purpose....no other purpose should even be considered...
