Jamul Backroads & Otay Truck Trail

Recommended Posts

A small group made their way through Jamul by way of Lyons Valley Rd to Honey Springs and then over to Otay Lakes Rd. A quick stop at the RV area store which happened to be the turn around point for THIS RIDE and then up the mountain.

Thx to RiggerDan for swapping lead and sweep duties. KKug gets bonus points for riding in full touring status. Welcome to the new SDAR riders and thanks to all who joined in. I didn't take any pics but rumor has it I'm getting a new camera for Father's Day.

Post up the pics!

Thanks for a great day Ken, the border fence part was a BLAST! You did miss a great burger and beers though - thanks for the tip Dan.

It was indeed a great ride! Thanks for putting it together, your local knowledge and tips along the way. The burgers and beer were just what I needed to get a second wind, and Dan hooked me up with some awesome single track and great scenery! You guys should have come along. My new bike is no longer blemish free due to a couple low speed rut spills, but it's all good. Just glad to get dirty today with a bunch of good guys! Thanks again.

I saw you guys. That was a big group...7 or 8 if I counted right. I was heading the other way on my big ol' Triumph.

Looking good. Sorry I missed it!

The back of Lawson valley with CL300APT

A brief run through some tighter trails and he was able to take home some "minor" superficial Jamulian wounds on the new 400

Great riding and welcome to the club.......

I went home to sleep in my bed. Yesterday was a shake down ride. I got a new shock ( Elka ) and it was a good ride to make some adjustments on it.

Thanks guys for pushing me up the rocky part. If I was by my self I wouldflaggedto flaged down a local Coyote to help me out :D

The burger place was great ( very good scenery :drinks: ) I can,t wait to go back.

What a great ride and some great scenery. I had never been down that way so to have some "local guides" was fantastic. Good to meet some great people as always and the burger at the end was tops. I definitely need some more gravel practice and more likely some new tires. Pics are coming..later today.

Thanks again and look forward to riding again as always.

Yeah the gravel was a bit squirelly, I almost dropped it a couple times there. Wish you could have come with RiggerDan and I after lunch. It was great even though I dropped it twice in some ruts. Oh well... I'm looking forward to more!

Anyone have gps coordinates for the 250 marker? I've been in that area a few times and never made it to the actual marker.
