I'm new to this forum but wanted to point out a two day San Diego Route i mapped out for the larger ADV bikes.

No not yet i spent a week riding around Monache Meadows in the Sierras so i don't think it will be a big deal. I'm wondering how it will do with the sand at the bottom.

The Picture of my Xcountry in front of Butterfield Ranch was from the 2009 Desert Dash as well. Your jeep pic came up on a Google Search. I was trying to find a pic from somewhere other than the Butterfield Ranch Resort web site. I didn't want to make a Butterfield commercial

I haven't ridden the whole route on the Tiger 800 XC yet but i don't expect to many issues the tiger handles this type of route fairly well. Its actually better off road in many ways than my BMW G650. its got a better suspension more ground clearance and a 21inch front wheel that makes the rougher stuff more forgiving to ride. Of course its much heaver.

Now that you veteran San Diego adventure riders have taken a look at the route do you think its optimal for a two day mid range route for ADV Bikes? The one problem i had was connecting Viejas Grade at Alpine to Otay Mountain Truck trail in Dulzura. The connections is all pavement I couldn't find a suitable dirt piece in between. Is there a better way? I want the route to be fun for the KTM 990, BMW F800GS and Tiger 800 XC.

If my Sunday ride falls through I plan to hit this on the GSAdv.

I will let you know what I think. However, I have a similar route to this, though less miles, that is a good 3/4 day ride.

My riding on the big bikes typically is more agressive than others so that may skew the results.

Can you take pictures along the route especially of the areas that others may find challenging? I'm really interested in your feedback taking a big adventure bike on Santa Ysabel Truck Trail and Orriflame Canyon.

I just noticed a dirt road through Santa Ysabel Indian Reservation called BIA Rd 51. This could chop out a long boring strip of pavement. Any one ride this road? Its off the 79.

Very true. I know that there is some rinding to be had in that area very near to that location but I am unsure of the legality.

I was happy to go to the Desert last week, but if somebody wants to get together in December (preferably on a weekday) to ride this I am fairly sure I could find some time.
