I bought it for $4000 out of some lawyers garage on the beach in La Jolla shores with the top on it. Brought it home and took the top off it and offered it to my oldest kid and he said it was the ugliest thing he has ever seen, while driving it around 1 day some jerk offered me 8K. I delivered it to his house in Vista and sold the top on CL. I have not seen it since.

I really love this bike, its an 03 KTM 300exc getting a major facelift. This bike has been used hard by myself and the previous owner but it runs so good it's worth restoring(and a lot cheaper than buying a new bike). Its coming along nicely so far and should be done in a week or two, in time for some single tracks in the sequoias! More pics coming soon.

Here is the rebuild BOM:

frame orange paint job,

all new radiator hoses,

Ironman sprockets,

G2 throttle cam,

DNA wheels,

fresh rubber,

shock service,

black plastics,

front brake line,

fastway pegs

pillow top grips.

factory graphics.

I got most of my parts in this week and got the chassis done. still waiting on black plastics and graphics. the rear wheel will match the front once I get a tire for it.

these DNA wheels are really really nice, made in US and are about half the price of a set of excels. check them out on ebay for under 500 a set.

these were the gnarliest pegs I could find. They have replaceable screw in spikes.

powerplant

still going to change colors quite a bit, but I like how it came out so far.

Registered and insured the Pacer - Drove it to work. The Border Patrol guy was looking at me strangely at the checkpoint. I may take it to cruise night in La Mesa today.

does anyone remeber the other popular pacer comercial where the pull in and it looks like a huge lincoln continental..then they take off the front and rear fenders and reveal the roomy inside but small outside pacer....that was a classic

as ugly as it was...the pacer was very much ahead of its time in design of spacial uses and aero dynamics and visibility...very cool in its own way...

different width door for passenger side...genius!

my friend had a Gremlin, was a poor substitute for the Pacer!

B)...but the Gremlin was still better than the Datsun B210!! car-smiley-003.gif

Nice Scout, Steve. This is the last one I had, sold it to get caught up on consumer debt. I don't regret it, I am debt free minus the house payment at this point.
