Simon the dog does the TAT

Recommended Posts

We're currently in Auburn. Still doing a lot of dirt. Weather is getting hotter so we're looking into switching to more pavement so we don't kill Simon, who has been a real trooper. Going through Death Valley is definitely out. Yesterday afternoon we went through Yuba City, which is the biggest place we've been in ages -- tons of aggravating stoplights!

The redwoods have been my favorite part of the trip. I never cease to remain in awe of them.

The Soda Creek store at Lake Pillsbury was home to a ton of cats. This one was the friendliest cat I've ever encountered.

Burned section of Mendocino National Forest. Trees without leaves/needles = great visibility through the turns!

This is what happens when you forget you have side bags. I was riding the rut when I rammed into the fence thingy and nearly tore the bag off.

You do laundry whenever and whenever you can.

Ah yes....one of the main reasons we carry water purification units with us in the back country, instead of imagining that we can just dip our Sierra cup into the creek and sip pristine water.:lol:

Love those Redwoods. It always feels like our ancestors are watching over us in those places. Happy to see that Simon is doing so well. I've never seen a cat jump on a motorcycle before! A new meaning to the word "friendly". :D

We're almost home. We're in Big Bear at the Motel 6; didn't want to grind out the last bunch of miles today. Our asses deserve a break.

Last few random pics...

Loaded bikes are fun fun fun in deep sand.

Simon does not understand the sanctity of the "Think Tank."

Heading into Death Valley. Cloud cover is always a plus there.

Wayne and Zina Great ride, Quite an undertaking. My question - if you did it again, would simon get in the back pack? Bob

I tested him today by breaking out the backpack -- he willingly jumped in.
