  1. @moto_rph, Scott and I met up at a connector to Grapevine off of Banner, Grapevine as usual is nice and flowy and fun. We rode that to the right turn for Old Culp, Old Culp has a lot of mystery dirt right now, it appears to the rider-eye to be dark, dirt that is hardpack, when it fact it is nice and fluffy, so we had some rear end slip and sliding fun on Old Culp. We got to the Sign on the Montezuma side and the winds were whipping pretty hard, like Perry's 500 would tip over if it was on the kickstand side facing the wind. We had designs on pushing further out in to the desert but the howling winds had us deciding to run Old Culp and Grapevine in reverse, back to where we came from. Well we got back to the start, and decided we still had a whole lot of day left, so we headed over to Sutherland Dam, and rode Forest Rte. up to the top of the Black Mountain truck trail, and reversed that back to the dam. Good weather, fun ride(s) VIDEO CLIPS FROM TODAYS RIDE
  2. Well a friend of mine on the Tiger 900 Rally just got back from a long time out of state, and another friend (Wade with the R1200GSA) is moving out soon so his last dirt ride in SoCal. Folks had places to be today so we kept it shorter, took Pamo rd to the turnout to head up to black mtn. Got the 'hey were at the top' picture, and headed back down. In proper fashion my buddy on the tiger was welcomed home by taking a tumble in the rocks, maybe it's time for a fresh set. Conditions on black mountain are really great, in that it's pretty tore up and nice and rocky in spots so it's fun. We saw probably 5 or six other adventure bikes in a group heading up when we were on the way down. On the way back we took the left on forest rte that connects back over to black canyon, then we rode up black canyon back toward Ramona and had some excellent breakfast crepes at Packard's in Ramona.
