  1. Well yesterday was just one of those really good rides, we met by the Warner Springs Glider port, and rode Lost Valley and the California Hiking and Riding trail. After that we swing through to Anza to top off the tiny tanks, and headed over to run to Bailey's Cabin and back. We saw two other riders out on the trail to Baileys, one on a CRF300L and one on a Rally Towered 690 that was pretty set up nice dudes. Good times, great riding. Lost valley route has some iffy puddles, and new ruts, the bit toward the end is a little slimy and still has snow so the whole route is gorgeous right now. Bailey's Cabin route was gorgeous, and it got warmer the further down to the desert floor you went.
  2. Our first time at the Parker Dash, my first time at an event like this, event was hosted by GPSKevin Adventures. Basically you meet a group of skinny-bike riders at a TA Travel Center parking lot in Indio CA, and send it through all kinds of desert textures chasing daylight all the way to Parker AZ, and back the next day. 10/10 recommend, can't wait to do it again. I am on my 2018' 690 Enduro R, Scott is on his timeless Husaberg 570, and Perry is on his 1723 Honda XR650L that I believe he is selling as we speak... for a ktm 500.   3. Perry (on the XR) and I had breakfast at Kountry Kitchen in Ramona, and rode around and had a bit of a locked gate tour, so we made a command decision to push out to Lost Valley, and ran that to the DQ in Anza. Great day for a ride 👍

    2019 Big Bear Hard Ways

    The only tracks I have worth sharing at the moment for those who may not know the area well. I feel like there was more single track this time around compared to the previous year. Highly recommend a small (plated and street legal) bike. These are highly technical and rocky jeep trails, a good amount of single track, and tons of fire roads and a few paved sections to connect it all. 200+ miles all together divided into 7 sections but it's broken up into 2 big loops that both start and finish at the convention center with 2 bailouts on the second loop. Gold Mountain gets ridden thrice, twice up and once down if you do the whole thing. The full run is doable in a day if you start at the crack of dawn and ride at a brisk pace with little to no stops. Each half loop is easily a half day ride (at a brisk pace) or a full day ride with more stops and/or slower pace. I did the full 200+mi solo but a buddy rider or two is a good idea. All credit on the tracks goes to Big Bear Trail Riders. I apologize if I shouldn't be sharing these, please remove if necessary.     Haven't posted in a long time... since my first join. Anyways over the last few months I’ve been building a 99 kx250 street legal. Haven’t got far because of work but this thread. I will document my complete rebuild... so I encourage all to give suggestions about degree of the build. I Plan on doing a bare bones “repair what is needed” build. But I’m open to ideas.. I will be in the ocotillo for a friends batchlor party on the 18th of May so I have a dead line. enough story look at the pics.

  9. I am new to the area and looking to do some dual sport riding ( KLR's) and exploring around southern CA and maybe north baja . I am pretty familiar with baja but never rode around southern CA . We are planning on leaving july 31 and return back to mission bay sunday aug. 2 . Is there any lodging up in the mountains south of hwy 10 and north of the border? Trying to stay out of the heat . I see lots of roads on google earth but that can be misleading . Any help or route suggestions would be very much appriciated . Also how is the road to Laguna hansen ? Have not riding around tecate for 6 years and have heard there are some fences and gates and being on Pigs we dont want to be boulder hopping .

  11. Summer is winding down which means dirt biking season is winding up! Scoop up the family and haul them over to Vaudois's house. We'll boast about near-misses and crashes of the past and speculate on epic rides of the future. This is an excellent opportunity for new members to meet us in a more relaxed atmosphere rather than meeting up on the dirt just prior to riding. There is a pool, horseshoe pits, a fire pit, and a children's jungle-gym/fort. Please no last minute RSVPs. I'd like to get an accurate headcount a few days before to give me an idea of how much food and drinks to buy. This year the San Diego Dirt Biking Meetup will be extending this invitation to other dirt biking-related groups. Also new this year, we will have one of San Diego's most respected rockin' blues band, 3rd Degree, providing live music from 2-6pm, though we can stay as late as we want. Vaudois and I are sharing the cost to throw this party (approx. $1000). Please help defray the cost by donating some cash when you arrive. I'll cook some burgers and chicken and will have my homemade pinto beans, various chips, condiments, plates, forks, knives, water, along with sodas, beer and wine cooler-type drinks.
