  1. I will most likely go. I am not too familiar with the technical trails, but i got a new dunlop m21 that gives me a bunch more traction. i will be riding all the way down from escondido cause i wont have my truck on sat. what is the mileage round trip? i only have the stock 3 gal on my bike.
  2. I would like to go, but saturday is a bad day for me as well, its one of the only saturdays that i will have a side job. i could make it sunday, or another weekend.
  3. I am thinking about extending my ride up palomar on friday to hit this trail as well. i was hoping that someone who was familiar with this trail to come along and lead the way. I was looking it up on google earth and it shows that it starts in ramona, and lets out on mesa grande, near henshaw. If we decide to go that way, we would stop at the lake cafe, eat and head up east grade road up palomar, and head down Nate Harrisons Grade. I wish i had a GPS so i could make waypoints of the forks on black canyon from google earth. Anyway, if you feel like going on this ride, or can help me out with the trail pm me or call me at (760)644-6190
  4. OK I will set the time for friday, meet at the mall in escondido at 9:00 am. If you are getting off the 15 north, get off on via rancho parkway, go straight across the light, take the first right in the parking lot, and look for me at the edge of the parkinglot. the ride will be over at about 12 or 1:00.
  5. Anyone down for a ride up nate harrisons grade up palomar mountain on friday. I got the day off of work. A couple of weeks ago, i did this ride with a friend, and it was a great ride. It is a nice easy ride, 80% road, 20% smooth uphill dirt grade. we stop for lunch at the Lake Henshaw Cafe, I am also working with the owners of the cafe (who also own most of the mountain) to alow me to take some riders on some trails that run through their property. I have hunted their property before and stumbled on a very nice old logging trail. Hopfully i can arrange that ride soon. anyways let me know if you wanna ride. We will meet at the mall in escondido at 9:00 am. You can call me at (760)644-6190
  6. ok, the meeting point has officialy moved. Any one who wants to go, meet at the mall in escondido at 9:00 am. If you exit Via Rancho Parkway off north bound I-15, go straight through the light wich will take you right to the mall parking lot. The road will "T" so go to the right and park somewhere on the fringe. Look for other bikes. A guy on a DR400 will be there by the name of Greg, and I live right near by, so i will be there right about 9:00 am we will wait for people till about 9:15 or so. also, Jay, also known as sdklr650 said he would like to go, so look for him as well. See yah on the road.
  7. This trail is very easy. It is a well maintained, 11 mile, dirt road up the west side of palomar mountain. It turns to pavement on top. You will probably put about 100 miles on your bike if you are headed from ramona. From valley center it is only about a 50 mile trip. If you want you can meet me and my friend at the north county mall in escondido at 9:00 am. We will be in the parkinglot near the northbound via rancho exit. PM me for more details if you want. P.S. if you dont stop for lunch, you can make it back by 12:30
  8. The whole trail is off limits to vehicles and hikers now. The tracks have been repaired and it is now an opperating train route. Patrols are out and about there now, so dont try :-) It was a fun hike. I had done it many times in the boy scouts and with family and what not, but the only way to see it now is ride the train.
  9. any one up for a ride up nate harrisons on saturday. We could meet at the gas station at the corner of cole grade and valley center road at 10am. head up nate harrisons grade, head down east grade road and stop for lunch at the henshaw cafe.
