Have you thought about mountain biking. Similar setting, great outdoor sport but a lot more work with much less grievous injuries.

Great turnout today for this protest, by one account 500 mountain bikers showed up. I am going to ride Mount Laguna tomorrow at 9:30. Probably go 15 miles or so at old guy speed everyone is welcome. We will be starting at the kiosk at mile marker 4.5. -

racerbill replied to Chris in Wildomar's topic in Baja Info, Upcoming Rides, Ride Reports, Photos, etc.
The last time I was at Alfonsina's they told me they did not get my reservation and all the rooms were taken, then they found a room with four beds that we could have at a much higher price. only one other couple ever showed up to stay at the hotel don't let them play games with you. -

Thank you for your hugely Gargantuan and generous gesture. My 300 would never speak to me again if I rode a KLR. I swore off cams and valves five years ago. -

Why Bass Lake year after year?

I am assuming you are camping out in motels on this trip. Hope to make this next year. -
I have been using an Airoh helmet for more than two years It is a great helmet with good fit. I bought it because I have neck issues. The fit is very snug the helmet is extremely quiet and very light and is great for long rides... if it is cold. This helmet is very warm I'll say again very warm. For singletrack work I bought a downhill mountain biking helmet from Giro, It's a carbon fiber remedy it weighs the same as the Airoh but is well vented, also it's very noisy. Neither of these helmets is rated by Snell and I don't care, they both offer great protection.

The question my friend is, Do you want Rip or Drive? (:-) If I was in town, we could set up a test. B I think that sums it up pretty accurately.

On a remote mountainside in Idaho when I was 52 I had a similar problem. I heard that popping noise, tore my ACL MCL Pcl and meniscus had to be life flighted out. I had two ligaments replaced one reattached did one year of hard therapy, Along with a lot of hiking and mountain biking, and was on the bike again. If you need surgery, get the surgery, do the rehab it will be good as new. I now wear CTI Carbon fiber braces on both knees for the last 10 years, can't ride without them.
