  1. Thanks for the tire too, I mounted it up!
  2. New format for the pics, I got a new phone and have been taking pictures in a weird format so far. One of these photos is proof that I brought my naturemaster. Pretty sure Tom is the only one that knew the reference, One is of the steak that Chris brought, he is now Gordon Ramsey, all the spices were represented. Also, I thought it was funny to see someone looking at the fire wearing their headlight.
  3. I had a great time on the new Michelin 95/5 streeet/dirt tires, and luckily didn't dump a chrome bike. Here's a couple pics I took. I don't think I've ever met a group of nicer guys, and the camp equipment I got from Jaja kept me nice and warm even though it got a bit chilly for the other guys. 72A728A9-882A-43C6-9937-17173D6D13BB.heic 126341AE-5A80-4361-A85C-826CE2FBAC9A.heic 0D52E4C7-C5F8-4DB2-93AF-5B672F657B3D.heic 386486F0-C737-46BE-9B9F-E78E0EC7B89C.heic 29738C04-06A4-4722-8AB4-F451166234E7.heic 913386F0-7371-440B-81B8-C766CDFB8145.heic B48711B5-2182-49D3-A72F-5DA86AB24F24.heic 11284CCA-61DB-447B-849E-88BE712330E6.heic D0BD7ACC-7035-4D3F-A247-DF4232D032EA.heic
  4. until

Ideally you would get a spot down by the river, so you can say you live in a Van down by the river.
  5. until

I was planning to head up a little bit early to have lunch and check out the bike event in Ramona.
  6. I need a new rear tire that size! Anything left?
  7. I'll bring my naturemaster, if anything I'm too prepared.

Preferred app for finding open trails?

Thanks, I might try the trial to see how I like it. I have a free Rever account but haven't used it. Shocking that stuff you have to pay for is better.

Preferred app for finding open trails?

I'm doing the noob ride to meet some folks, looking forward to it.
  10. I often struggle to find places to ride, so I figured I'd ask what other people use for navigation. I spent years on a Mountain Bike, and those you can ride nearly anywhere there is dirt, plus working in a bike shop I have a lot of frinds that will show me good places. I've found that with a motor it is a LOT harder, and sometimes I look something up online and find it closed when I get there (I was trying to find a trail off of Proctor Valley Road) I've been trying Alltrails online, that is pretty good, but it shows a lot of stuff that is out of range for my old bike, I don't take it on a truck, just ride to the trail. Otay Mountain Truck Trail is a good one, there's a gate, but it can be opened, and even when it has been locked, there's a combo I can get from the Ranger station. What's the best way to find stuff?
  11. I may have too much to do this Saturday, but I appreciate it even if I can't go. I won't know for sure until the last minute (Friday).
  12. I guess it's ironic for me to join a group partially because I want to prepare to camp and find routes to ride alone, I enjoy solitude as well.
  13. I'm really looking forward to going. My goal is to be 100% self-sufficient however, I plan to buy a sandwich to take for dinner at the station or perhaps in Ramona. I even have one of the worst motorcycle related movies saved to my phone...Deathsport with David Carradine, one of my favorites from the 70's when I was a kid. I've been making AI generated images of my motorcycles in Fury Road situations after work to avoid the real world as well. I've attached a particularly silly one.
  14. Did you do the dirt on the FZ as well? As long as it's not rocky I can handle it.
  15. I realized today that my bike is leaking way more oil than I expected. The good news is it is all from the top end, right side, and parts are identical to the extremely popular 70's CB350 engines, but with my skills and budget it will probably be a few month to get this done properly. If anyone has recommendations for re-building old heads and honing cylinders locally let me know. I'm probably going to miss this trip. I have a reliable street bike, I could probably get by with dual sport tires but I just put fresh street rubber on!
