    Phone based gps help!

Beater phone is a good idea and the magnetic charging adapter is awesome! Never seen that before. Also check out Gaia you can do a ton with the free version. I use this free website a lot too when I have a google maps route you can copy the route link from google and paste it into this website and it will give you a gpx file much easier to plan on google, and then use this website for the GPX file https://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx

Nice! Which coffee shop will you ride to first? So many options!

    Now Planning April 19-21

I'd love to but coming alone the 10 hour drive isn't worth it for me...

    Now Planning April 19-21

Hey PP, Sadly, not looking too good for me anymore. For the 10 hour drive roundtrip to be worth it I'd need at least 3 days riding like you are planning but doesn't look like I'll be able to get away for that long.

@Bp619 was telling me about this one -- I should be able to make it
  7. Chris that was probably my favorite section. Loved riding the alpine goat trails that was rad. The marker was there but it wasn't that obvious it looked like someone had moved the wood slightly so it didn't really catch your attention as you rode by. But the tracks were perfect.
  8. First time riding up in the Mammoth area -- fun times! The tracks were great Chris -- lots of fun "nuggets" in there for sure. Here are some of my pics from Sat & Sun. The rains made for some incredible dirt -- the traction levels were insane and no dust.
  9. Cool sounds good. I'm staying at the Motel 6 for easy walking to the fest Thanks for the offer to ride with y'all I'll likely take you up on that since I'm heading up there solo
  10. Rad I always laugh at the Oxxxo every time I go by there
  11. Who's going this year?
  12. Have fun Dave! I'd like to join you but my bike is out of commission for the next few weeks
  13. I went this year to spectate (for my honeymoon) Everyone add it to their bucket list -- wow what an experience and such a cool little country!

Did you make it up yet?

Do we have any members who are in their 20s and 30s?

32 but you would never know based on my height
  16. Sounds epic. Consider me wildly interested, maybe.
  17. You can get milk jug gas out of a shack at the Saw Mill if you don't want to chance it: https://goo.gl/maps/amj3qKRXmtL2 No issues with the gas I don't carry octane booster. The gas there is ethanol free and I've had no issues with questionable octane. I do run the Zip ty fuel filter: https://ziptyracing.com/products/quick-disconnect-fuel-filter
  18. You can take Compadre Trail down to Ojos -- pretty straightforward and best way if you think you'll be tight on time. I normally take the 2D toll road to El Hongo exit to pick up Compadre https://goo.gl/maps/ah7perVxBEo This website is helpful to convert a google maps link into GPX file. Just leave everything blank and enter the google maps link in the field that says "Or provide the URL of a file on the Web: " http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx

    The Rincon Trail Itch

I broke my collarbone back in Dec (road racing incident out at Chuckwalla). I'm guessing I am about a month away from riding again

    The Rincon Trail Itch

Man that looks awesome! Makes me miss the nasty riding I rode when I lived in the PNW. I hooe to be fully recovered to make this trip. Subscribed!
  21. I lived in state for a little over 12 months before changing my stuff over. No issues. YMMV I did hear that if you change your insurance over, they will notify the DMV then you will get a nasty letter (with a fine?) stating you need to register your vehicle. So as long as all your stuff stays insured and registered out of state at the same address you should be fine. For me the reason I changed over was so that I could get local insurance. I didn't want to risk my insurance declining a claim if I had one since it seems like it would be pretty for them to prove that I was lying about my garaging address. So I made an appointment at the DMV, and got my local insurance a few days before the appointment. On the DMV forms I lied and said I entered the state the same day I got my local insurance to avoid all the fines. Shame on me.
  22. Good stuff Kenny & congrats on the taco count that's impressive stuff!
  23. Nice riding with you and Kenny!
  24. I'll be there. I'm gonna park here and ride the 15 min to 4 corners: https://goo.gl/maps/nfYLJdwJvPA2
