  1. Roger, keep me in mind for future mid-week rides, large or small bike. I just swapped everything over for SM on Sunday.
  2. I might be down. Big bike or small bike ride? Small bike is setup for Supermoto on Sunday (Wr450) but big bike is ready to go (KLR650)
  3. Ran out of pavement for sporty bikes and picked up a KLR. Had one on the east coast for years and gave to my son with 65k miles on it. Decided i need to explore the dirt roads here in San Diego. Have to head up towards Jamul sometime tomorrow and plan to do some exploring if anyone knows the area and has time. Medium to higher skill level but since I'm fairly new to the area and don't know my way around, am happy to stay fairly easy for a little while.
  4. Noob to S.D. Thinking of doing the Dash. Intermediate - Expert rider with no west coast riding buddies yet. Would lean Intermediate if a gun was to my head as my 33 years of riding and racing are all east coast.
  5. New to San Diego but not new to riding or dual sports. Just got out here from NJ and brought my TE450 with me. This even tlooks interesting and I am available that weekend. Two points/questions... Looking for a quick but not race pace group to ride with. Also wondering how the weekend runs. It's two days starting and ending in the same spot. Where does Saturday end and Sunday begin? I ask because the flier had Julien and Borego Springs lodging info. All the Dual Sports Back east based out of one spot but I did the LA-Barstow-Vegas ride and it was a bit of a logistical challenge basing out three different towns. Thanks for any info. -Keith
  6. Keith here. New to the area from New Jersey . Off road enthusiast. Don't hold the NJ thing against me, I grew up in South Jersey in the Pinelands with tons of great off road riding. Now, I am a partner in the Yamaha Champions Riding School (street/track based) which is now in New Jersey (from Utah). Well it gets cold in NJ and we didnt want to sit around all winter waiting for it to thaw out so we booked schools at a racetrack in Tucson for the winter. Since I am now an empty-nester (Son is at MMI in Phoenix with my KLR650), I volunteered to drive my motorhome to San Diego and park my ass in the perfect weather for the winter to be close to the school in Tucson. Since i only have school once per month in Tucson, there is no reason for me to move there. Crappy life, huh? Anyway, dirt is my first love and my hobby and my passion so I brought one of my dirtbikes out with me (The Husky TE450) and hope to get in some riding as often as possible. I am flexible during the week which is nice. Due to the Husky getting a little long in the tooth, it will most likely get replaced with a WR450 (Yamaha sponsorship) as soon as I can figure out how to get a plate on one. Oh yeah, I am signed up to ride the LA-Barstow-Vegas ride after Thanksgiving and may join some locals in a iron ride back from Vegas on Sunday (unless there is some rideshare back to SD from Vegas). Hope to hear from some folks and get in some riding.
