Thank you for the education! I had NO idea there was that much to know about tires!!! I'm totally amazed. Honestly, I'm still so thankful for being given my little bike and just being able to get out and ride, I haven't put more than passing thoughts toward changes/upgrades. Really sux being so limited, size-wise. As the ol' saying goes, it's not the size that matters, but how you use it. This coming from someone who is 6'2". There are adherent disadvantages for all sizes (people and machine). Tuning a bike to our size is important for making life easier or more suitable to our needs. But in the end, building skills (practice) is the monumental key in advancing.....on any metal steed. Once you can develop a core set of skills backed up with confidence, climbing on motos that aren't quite setup for you won't seem so daunting. But yes, having the right tools (or right setup) to assist you (not fight you with every move) in building that core/confidence is a true helper to progression. Kudos to your commitment for progression. Skills! Yes! I need SKILLS!!!(and free lessons ) -

I am limited, in the sense that I cannot just hop on different bikes and ride them to see how they differ, they way most guys can. That's what I meant. Of course, I know you can build anything if you have enough $$. I do not. I am still pondering why the fatter tire doesn't= more stability? What makes the "normal" wheeled bikes easier? Science lesson, please -

No kidding?? I had no idea!! Being so small, it's not like I've ever gotten to ride anything else. Is this like learning to drive on a stick shift piece of crap? Everything else will seem easy? Really sux being so limited, size-wise. -
Not to laugh: (Make sure your sound is on!)

It's the music choice that cracks me up so hard not really the crash. Crashing sucks but I don't think I'd ever ride again if I couldn't laugh about it later. (Later being about 2 minutes with Bikeslut around:)

Thanks guys!! I'm hesitant to post yet because I noticed last time that when I'm with a group I get too excited. I tend to want to watch you ride and I lose focus on myself. For now I need to stick to no more than 2 others. But if I know you might wanna go slow with me I'll PM you. (I need my buddy ThumperBob back on the road) -
How come idiots like that can afford nice stuff? Something doesn't seem fair, there…..

Street Gear-What's your choice?
TdubLady replied to TdubLady's topic in Street Bikes & Street Riding
Thanks. Fortunately I love my jacket. It was the first thing I bought. It has good armor but it's mesh so it doesn't get too hot. I just layer more under when it's cooler out. I like my street boots too(though they're a bit scarred from my dirtnap) Xelement on leatherup.com has good stuff at great prices. My dilemma is the daily. I had always just hopped on and gone with jeans, boots, jacket and gloves. I prefer to take the bike whenever I can to run errands, etc. Now I'm rethinking my gear and trying to figure how to invest my money wisest. If i wanna go to the beach or sight-seeing I don't wanna be in leather all day, so what's the path of least resistance? What's the easiest most versatile investment for daily grab and go? Then, there's the fact I'm short and female…what's gonna fit? You guys have it SOOOO easy!! -

Mikey, you're looking sexy there…but I'm sure the guys have told you that already! Does Bilt make girl stuff? Where can I go to try some of these things on? I'd like to look into "over clothes" stuff, but I definitely want to try and see the fit before ordering online and having to return stuff. I haven't seen anywhere that has much for girl street stuff. Where's the petite lady biker store? Even the couple of Harley places I've been in sell only fluffy, pretty stuff; not actual protective gear. -

Big Noob/Dude Wife Ride 6-1-14
TdubLady posted a topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
I get to start this one because I didn't go. I'm not healed up enough for the day but couldn't resist riding up for breakfast. Paul was right-Zoot is cuddly.(I think there was some footsie happening but I was scared to look and confirm) Aren't we cute? Food at Janet's was good but portions are massive. Bikeslut stopped by but said something about having a broken mirror so therefore needed more fuel….??….and then left for Carl's. What a group!! 10+ on time and everything!! Here are some parking lot pix: I see trouble: Then a very informative and serious meeting: Everyone listened intently: In all seriousness, it's so awesome how organized y'all are! It inspires confidence. Then last couple of preparations: And the take-off: I'm sure you guys are having a marvelous time-can't wait to hear the rest of the story…... -
