  1. I will have to drop out on the camping, I have obligations at the church on the 21st. That plus no camping gear makes me but I am sure I will have more chances. I may show my face at the show and tell if I plan on doing a day ride up that way anyway. I'll bring along some food if I decide to show up. Enjoy the camping guys!
  2. I really want to ride Toro Peak. I also very much would like to get into camping with my bike, but I have no equipment. In for the show and tell most definitely. How much stuff would I have to buy to get myself sleeping on Toro that night?
  3. Unfortunately I won't be able to join you guys, looks like a helluva ride and I'm sad to miss out, enjoy.
  4. My Dad and I are itching for a ride tomorrow, we basically live in la mesa and are down to ride out at dawn, but is anyone riding back sat afternoon or night or are you guys all camping? Otherwise we will probably truck it out, and meet at the camp site in the morning, ride all day, truck home (I want to camp, trying to convince the old man). Thanks. Justin.

    Jamul Track Sunday

I'm looking to break in the new top end on my Honda, you guys think this would be a good place to do so? Love to hang out out there with yall.
  6. Just gonna sit back and lurk for a little while
  7. Whoops I just figured NOBODY could plan a ride 2 weeks out! But considering that is president's day weekend, I will be in the sand dunes.. Too bad, I really want to ride these roads.
  8. Looks like it's gonna be cold and crappy, guessing you guys are all down for some nastiness. I'm thinking about joining up, unless I decide to go snowboarding. Gonna keep an eye on this thread.
  9. Dang Kato, looks like you had a hell of a ride after we split up! I'm anxious to get out in that area, so whenever this Jacumba ride is, I'm in! I took a couple of pictures on my phone earlier in the ride: Those are the best I have of the group. After we split from Barrett Junction, I (Justin), my Dad (Jeff), Mike (Black DR-Z), and Dan (Blue Yamaha 250) cruised back down 94 towards Jamul, then took Otay Lakes Road again, and rode up the same road as before, to the top of Otay Mountain From there we decided to ride down the west face of Otay, towards the power plant and the 905. After a nice 300lb mountain bike ride to the bottom, we dove into a small and wet valley which is basically surrounded by the prison. We got back on pavement, and said goodbye to Dan, then we jumped back down into the valley, and rode all the way from the prison to the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater, passing under the 125 freeway and through some muddy patches. I unfortunately did not get any pictures from Otay down, the GoPro was dead and I was being lazy. I did however lay down GPS Tracks using my phone from when we met in Jamul, till my Dad and I got home. Here is a screenshot of most of the tracks And I can post the GPX file if anyone is interested in pulling up more detailed tracks at home. Thanks to everyone for a great ride, I can't wait to get out with all of you more often. -Justin
  10. Sweet picture, was that after you guys split towards Campo? I have some pictures, I'll post em when I get on the computer
  11. I will be there, ready to meet some of you guys!
  12. Doh, I wasn't reading usernames. Sorry about that.
  13. That's a bigass ride, are you sure the gates will all be open? Are you looking to do the Chariot Mountain truck trail but it's not on the map? I would be interested in this, on my DR-Z
  14. What are the roads? I'd like to get to the top of Otay Mountain, as part of my quest to bag as many peaks as possible in SD County. Do you have a map?
  15. Well crap, I just checked the calender and realized I have a snowboarding trip planned with some buddies that weekend.. I can still back out though, I will have to see how pa feels about it. Decisions decisions decisions...
