  1. Ok since there were no takers, and we have people committed to going I will throw this out there one more time. Sunday the 16th as the day for the meetup for the tec/packing day if people are interested Those with luggage maybe bring it with so people can get tips on mounting options and ideas etc. The BBQ will not be running this time unless someone brings stuff then the grill is available for their use.
  2. Then I propose Sunday the 16th as the day for the meetup for the tec/packing day if people are interested those with luggage maybe bring it with so people can get ideas on options and ideas We need some headcount to plan accordingly
  3. I will also throw this out there, once a date is decided I will be happy to host a minor tech/how to pack your ---- on small bike and not look like the clamptons moving to CA from Kentucky day. I have numerous luggage options and such. This is me pack for a 2 week trip, with only a duffel and tail bag. Duffel has ALL my camp gear in it, tail bag are the things I need while riding like rain gear and such to it is mostly empty.
  4. So went for ride on Saturday, the plan was Idlywild for lunch and back via the scenic route. We get to the turn off at the bottom (Santa Ysabel) of the hill before going up to Julian and stop to take a break at the Julian Pie Company. Just as we park a guy rolls in on a Norton with luggage, we clear a space so he can park in the shade with us and notice he has a British plate. He literally got the bike off the plan the day prior, got it out of customs and then rode to Palm Desert where he camped for the night, ended up where we were at while trying to get to Big Bear. After talking with him a bit (Andy) we decided WTF we will take you to Big Bear, didn't get home till almost 9pm that night. https://www.relive.cc/view/vKv2QDG2xoq
  5. Are you the guy from out tech day that I gave the tanks bag to and was going to give those bark busters too? I don't recall your name, it was the navy guy with the prosthetic leg, that's all I remember, still waiting for him to come up for air sometime to finish getting that installed on his bike. @Hawkins - Thoughts?
  6. 1290 was taking it out to see how the modified front wheel was going to work out, made one from the 990 fit the 1290. Wasn't planning to ride that long of a day but oh well, better than sitting at home. The 990 in the pictures belongs to my friend Sal, mine is orange so it is the faster version
  7. Once in BB we had to backtrack a couple of times there was a small fire earlier that afternoon so they shut down all the campgrounds in the area, ended up taking him to Fawnskin to camp for the night.
  8. Thats an even better idea!!
  9. If you want to sell in ca get it plated before the sale in your name if you want to ensure it wont come back to bite you

The first plug looks like the one for carb heaters
  13. I have run a set of those under the 990. 2 trips to baja with luggage and another long trip thru death valley. For the money they are really good tires, performed well and stood up to the abuse of the LC8. I think there was almost 3K miles on the rear before I changed it out for a long trip but it still had life left. I would expect to get 4K out of the rear esp on the smaller bikes.

Anyone need BMW parts? Like pick a part, help yourself, cash on the table as you leave. Many plastics already removed, good deals. PM me for details πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚ The pink parts will have to stay with the bike, you will know when you see them.
  17. @Hawkins I think an idea floated earlier in this thread has merrit. Users that want to host a lot of pictures pay a small space fee to help offset the cost of hosting the site. Maybe some math to figure out what the max space needed to host existing pictures and calculate a growth rate. That then could be factored into the cost analsysis to come up with a per user $$ which should be pretty small
  18. You already broke a collar bone, you would kill yourself on that ride and we all know it. stick to walking for now, it is safer 🀣
