  1. I took some more photos yesterday of this same area. We drove there in a car and hiked up to Tenaja Falls. On the dualsportmaps link above, there is a dirt section of the route. This is the later, longer road that is all paved. Trail head to Tenaja Falls:
  2. You dropped your tools again!? :-D I dropped my bike. The tools went with it!
  3. What year is that, 1999? Do you mind me asking what you paid? PM me.
  4. Man, I just checked that out on Google Maps. Looks like a TON of open space! Like... as much acreage as Camp Pendleton! Is North Main Divide all paved as well? Or does it turn into dirt up North?

    Coastal Dirt

Club ride / fundraiser works for me!
  6. Fun ride! I had never been through that area. Thanks to Arnie for organizing and thanks to Jeff for picking up my bag o tools -- which dropped off in the trail -- and to Jeff again for giving me a bungee to tie it back down. We had about 5 bikes go down. No damage or injuries. Just slow, soft sand wash outs. Later... beers at Cheers in Ramona, yeah! We stayed just long enough to allow the full blown storm to roll in. One of these guys took about 100 photos. Coming soon? Home in Tierrasanta. Warm PJs, UGG boots, fire in the place, Arrogant Bastard in the frosted mug!
  7. Maybe your mom should come on the ride!
  8. Let me know if you want to meet someplace. I was thinking about heading down to Otay Mtn. But I am up for anything. Can't be ready until about 11am though.
  9. Check these out: http://www.unabiker.com/?p=799 Are you going riding today?
  10. Did you get any more dirt time? Do they make radiator crash protectors for the DRZ400? Those might be a consideration. I am in on this ride BTW!
  11. Here's my Basic idea to the camp on Santa Rosa Mtn. http://www.dualsportmaps.com/?link=107508 hmmm... that dualsportmaps link ain't working for me Craig.
  12. Took about a 100-mile loop with GY6.1911 (Matt and 2-Up Amy) and Leoffensive (Leo). And when I say noob, I mean Leo had a noob 2012 DR-Z400 with 30 miles on it and rider Leo had the same miles on him. Matt had a 1981 DR-500 with reservoir rear shocks (are those stock?) springing his chick Amy on the back. Only one issue... 2-Up Amy had no buddy foot pegs. Instead, she had a rolled up blanket to keep her shorty legs from scraping on the tarmac. Most of the ride, the Amy legs were just flapping in the wind. Towards the end, the 2-Up legs ended up on Matt's lap! So, anyway, we took the big, paved loop: Lakeside, Wildcat Canyon, Ramona Cafe, Julian, Sunrise Hwy, Pine Creek Rd, to (finally) some dirt along Viejas Grade Rd. and down into Alpine. Fine for my 2012 Scrambler. Leo kept it up (he's age 24)... with no scratches on the brand-new DR-baby. Matt and Amy hung tight too. Fun ride! No photos from me. However, I did see a camera attached to the noob-Leo helmet, so images may appear soon.

I am in Tierrasanta, so I could meet you at the park and ride, and we could head up to Ramona via Wildcat Canyon. Or, we could meet at the 7-11 at Hwy. 67 and Mapleview in Lakeside. What time are you supposed to meet up in Ramona?
