roadchick replied to captcham's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
Very! I had that happen to my vehicle last November, ended up losing around $1500 in stuff. Hope you are able to recover through insurance some of your stolen goods! -
I will look at these too!! Thanks!

This sounds like something I may be interested in doing. -

Curse and Crash of the NX250
roadchick replied to Goofy Footer's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Happy to read you are OKAY!?! I have that same bike and it does have some pull, that's for sure! Mine bucked me off too, up on Viejas grade, but mine was USER ERROR. I landed face first too, and it knocked me out! Interesting what you have done to it? Or maybe it came that way? I need to find a solution to missing body parts that are near IMPOSSIBLE to replace. -
I have a set of Excel wheels with dirt tires on them, but want to put a dual sport tire on. What do you recommend? I am pretty sure they are 21 and 19? I have Bridgestones on the super moto wheels. Thanks, Rene

WR250X Dual Sport Tires (WHAT IS GOOD)
roadchick replied to roadchick's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
You scored a nice deal on that bike! A set of 17's would be nice for commuting..... I did, I agree. It is the WR250X, but the man purchased the bike for ONE big ride up in CO with his buddies. He had the Excel wheels made for it. -
WR250X Dual Sport Tires (WHAT IS GOOD)
roadchick replied to roadchick's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
That is correcto! I have both the SM wheels and tires 17" and a set of Excel 21 and 18" dirt wheels with tires. -
Sounds like it was a good time! Ended up at work, still am, fixing tax software for our release tomorrow! Thanks got putting the ride together! Next time I'll think twice before saying I'll make an 8 o'clock ride that is 1.5 hours away.

I am not going to make the 8 start. Will try and make it out later. Too cold to ride from Coronado this early.
-
So is this still a NOOB ride? Lots of talk about racing and intermediate etc? Do not want to show up And feel like I am dragging behind.
-
my Chef and his son may join us, so sounds like we have a large group. If any self-professed noobs can start asking questions we can tailor the ride to suit you... I have some whoops, some sand, a couple of VERY SMALL drops, and very little, if any singletrack... we'll then do a run to some overlooks on easy dirt roads, then re-group to decide if we want to dosome singletrack, or maybe split up speaking for myself, I am NOT any kind of expert. Throughs year of trial and error, I have found things that work "for me" and will pass on what I know. Paul, Trophy and others may have some ideas, but that fall in the same boat... this is an "introductory ride" with some experienced riders, and we'll take you on easy stuff. if you are looking for a basic skills motorcycle class, carguy and ride-orange teach a sanctioned class, and if you want street experience, I think motorcyclenut does as well... I just don't want anybody to think this is a MSF class or anything; just a nice leisurely ride in a safe atmosphere (as safe as dirtbiking can be anyway ) looking forward to seeing all of you... if you need anything ASK NOW... gear, ideas, tools, tires, etc. i'll do my best to make sure you're taken care of I have been on a total of five dirt road rides which include the following: Viejas Grade Forest Service Road Pine Valley Cleveland National Park near Lake Elsnore (spelling?) And the Anza Mud Caves Badlands area I have taken a beginner dirt riding class with Coach 2 Ride three weeks ago because I crashed hard the first two times I went into the dirt because my street riding techniques kept overriding and causing me to crash. The beginner dirt riding class has turned around my riding in the dirt, thank GOD! I am a COMPLETE NOOB to the dirt, whereas, on the street and track, I am VERY experienced. So, I would say I am a beginner!

Dubach Riding School for Girls!
roadchick replied to christi20's topic in Motorcycle Safety, Training & Riding Schools
The class is geared to all levels of riders from beginners to experts. It will be small enough and on a private track, so that you will get plenty of time, personalized coaching and space to work on your skills. Sign me up then! Thanks! -
Nice to read I am not the only person knocking myself out in the dirt!
-
Haha!! I don't get my feelings hurt easily, so make fun to my face, I will probably laugh with you! As far as crashing, no guarantees there!
-
When you say "Radio", just what type of radio are you talking about? I was wondering the same thing!

Dubach Riding School for Girls!
roadchick replied to christi20's topic in Motorcycle Safety, Training & Riding Schools
I am very interested. I took the beginner class with Coach 2 Ride three weeks ago, and it totally turned my dirt riding around. I was stuck in my road techniques which kept causing me to crash, but now I am on my way to learning dirt and leaving those techniques for the road. -
I tried that when I first purchased my bike! Have a nice tattoo to remember that ride forever! LOL Not recommended for a NOOB dirt rider like me....
-
What is your apprehension to putting the dirt tires on the WR and using them? I guess I could ride out on those tires? Someone told me they are not meant for the street and I would only get 1200 miles out of them if I did ride with them on the street, that is all.

Does anyone have room for another bike? If not, not a big deal, I will bring my NX250. Right now, I do not have dual-sport tires on my WR. I have the SM wheels/tires, and the Excel dirt wheels/tires. Need to buy a dual sport tire so I can ride to these rides vs. trailer. Thanks!
