    Suspension 101

George is the man! He did the suspension on my YZ450F.. Two days later, i won (both motos) at the last MX race ever held at Pala in Vet30 class. I'm a fatty pushing 300lbs with gear, and i didn't touch a single clicker, picked it up and raced it, bike was DIALED!!! Blew it up riding like an ahole in the desert the very next weekend, but it died an undefeated champion! He has since done 2 more bikes for me and both had the same spot on results.

  6. I wanted to run a D38 all last year and my schedule never allowed it. The Nov 1st race is the only one i will be able to swing this year. Team race sounds fun though.

Best place to get black spokes for 2004 KTM 625 sxc rims

    Buchanans for sure!
  12. You are welcome to pit with us. There will be a group of about 6 or 7 or so of us out there for this. Might go night before. Several are first timers also, some young, some old. Suggestions: -Prep bike a WEEK or so before, doing last minute stuff rushes you, rushes make mistakes, if something looks questionable, replace it -Eat big meal and hydrate night before, not day of.. Racing in the desert will be a gut wrench, best to have it all digested -Hydrate night before, again -Get your AMA Competition License and register with D38 beforehand. This way you can choose your own # and class you want to be in. -If you just show up without AMA or D38 membership, they make you run expert. Why? NO CLUE.. -Its a dead start, flag drops with motors off!!!! Learn how to start your bike ASAP or you will be sucking dust. -Have enough gas to complete 75 miles without stopping. If you need to stop to refuel, you will lose your chance of a win. We are heading out the weekend before to ride the course, or close to it. You welcome to join. Anything else lemme know. Woot

    Anyone try these boots/Company?

Depends on the riding i am doing.. If it is MX or harder dual sporting, i sacrifice a little flexibility and comfort for protection and wear these: http://www.atomic-moto.com/Sidi-Crossfire-2-TA-Boots_p_1160.html But if i am doing a long trip, and taking the GS out, or doing a chill ride, i wear these: http://www.atomic-moto.com/Alpinestars-Toucan-Gore-Tex-Boots_p_1062.html I originally bought them in prep for Alaska trip, and preparing for rain. I've owned dozen of different types of boots, and can say without a doubt, the Toucans are the most comfortable boots i have EVER own/worn, and they offer great (but less than Crossfire) protection. We did a 1000 mile central coast adventure last year, and the only time i took them off was to sleep, they were THAT comfortable. Back to original topic. I don't know anyone running THOSE Formas, but a road race friend (those dudes hemmorage cash) swears by the Formas My .02
  14. Latest Forecast calls for 80-90% chance of Tstorms saturday, pack accordingly! I enjoy riding in the rain/dirt/mud!
  15. Bike and gear are loaded in the truck, and i am sitting here at work staring at the clock........
  16. Awesome! Let's set up and pit together.. I haven't raced anything other than MX or Supermoto in about 15 years.. Will be fun!

WIll be doing another in mid October, and also Mid November for some cold weather camping and such. I will post up details when i nail down a date. Thanks Kevin
  22. Hey Guys I know its last minute, wasn't sure buddy was going to make it, but.... Heading to Big Bear tomorrow AM to get out of the heat.. Going to camp at one of the Yellow Post sites east of the Heart Bar Ranch, towards the Coon Creek Cabin.. Friend JUST picked up a 1200GS and this will be his first ride on a big bike. The Plan: -Leave SD around 8am (we are riding up and moto camping) -Stop and visit buddy already camping in Idylwild, eat some breakfast -Arrive and setup camp around Noonish -Veg out, relax, maybe putt around a bit, BBQ some steaks -Camp out -Pack up and head out around 8-9am -SUPER CHILL ride for some scenery, most likely 2N10 up behind the ski resorts, and/or 2N01 to check out the mines. -Definitely a NEWB friendly route. We will be on BIG bikes, riding slowwwww His brother is trucking up his new KTM and going to join us as well. If anyone is interested, you are welcome to join. This trip is more about getting out of the heat, and camping, but will include some light riding also. Sorry for the last minute, but i wasnt sure if i was going to make it!

For those of you with roll up garage doors....

Another security tip is to secure/lock your air conditioner! Tons of thieves just popped them out and break in. They pop right out.
