About Me
I love the outdoors: camping, backpacking, kayaking, traveling, exploring, maps...etc..so finding this sport was probably inevitable....To me a map represents a possibly awesome destination and adventure! And when I see a road or trail, I just want to know "where does that go?" and I want to find out....
I'm a busy single mom of 2 young adults in college..I work full time in land surveying/mapping, try to maintain my house and do most of the work myself, and try to ride as much as I can.
I seem to have developed somewhat of an obsession with this dirt bike thing, and you just need a plate these days to really do much exploring.....I'm also always anxious to learn more riding skills, more mechanics, more places to ride....
I Previously rode quads/ 3 wheelers...No One told me How Great bikes really were!.... Got my first dual sport, a 2009 klx250s (first motorcycle actually) in May 2008, so still a relatively new rider, but I do get out and ride alot because I love it so much...Moved up to a KTM450exc in 2010.......Would term myself a cautious intermediate rider....Don't like crazy fast and less enjoy super technical trails where you have to wrestle your bike over boulders, or drag it over/under obstacles...the bike weighs more than two of me, so that takes the fun out of it.....Being cautious reduces injuries...that make you loose months of riding..Just not worth it...... I Love riding the desert in winter, the mountains in summer and some of my favorite riding areas are big bear, mammoth, utah and colorado...so many places to explore.....Just Love getting out there!
SDAR is an awesome place for learning, meeting great people, and enjoying the best sport out there.
