  1. Hi All, I'll be racing a DRZ400E supermoto this year. Sold the DR650. What a difference a few pounds make! I was just reminded that RaceSMX.com is doing a special this month, so I will quote what I know here: "1st Race Free" in the "knobby/sportsman class" at Qualcomm Stadium. SMX Series season starts on March 18th. "Just show up on your dirtbike and race." *offer valid for rider's first race only. Does not include $10 gate fee at Qualcomm. Coupons are available at sdBMWmc, NKB Motorcycles, other local motorcycle shops, or contact sean@racesmx.com; steve@racesmx.com" They have added a vintage bike, scooter, and M1GP class, so there is usually more motorcycles racing than Karts. Hope to see you out there!

    Drz gas tank

I have an oversize tank I took off my DRZ400E that is now set up for supermoto. Don't know the size, but you can certainly check it out and make me an offer.
  5. Had a nice day at APEX Saturday. There were mini's and Supermoto (2 groups). The surprise of the day was a gentleman (and fellow RiderCoach - Mark Howell) brought his KTM 950 Adventure (with sumo wheels), completely street legal and ran it in the Open Expert class, started on the back row and worked his way up to 2nd place in 10 laps. I sold my SUMO DR650 in November and got a 2000 DRZ400E that was converted to SUMO. I am running Bridgestone SM Slicks and really enjoying this setup. I raced in the "B" group (not open expert). Got a good hole shot at the start, but was passed after the 1st turn by a KTM 525. I held him in my sights for the duration of the race and had no idea what was going on behind me. I had a gopro going forward and aft. When I viewed my rear camera footage, I see I had a rider on my tail for about 8 laps. If you wanna see the footage (for and aft), I have it set up on my blog where you can watch both at the same time: Apex B Race 1-28-12 ..Enjoy! BTW, RaceSMX.com will be having another series this year at Qualcomm stadium. Last year it was a 9 race series with plenty of classes. I am hoping to get more DRZ400's out there to compete in the 400AM class. They are supposed to have a "knobby tire" class this year.

    Fatality Motorcycle Accident November 18th

A fellow worker said the rider was the Prez of the Pioneers M/C Club. RIP
  10. I heard they are only losing the El Cajon Blvd store. Something about not coming to terms with the new lease.
  11. For SDAR members who don't want to go to North County to get your Amsoil Saber, remember I always have it in stock for $10 a quart (including tax) and sometimes I deliver for free.

    Ever wonder why you never

Yeah, Mike is hard to beat. I have bought over 100 tires from him in the past 3 or 4 years.

    Ever wonder why you never

Full Throttle in Santee will be open and I am swinging by there to get new tires put on my Motard right after work.
  14. Thanks for the write up. I was there, but not there. My wife and I were on vacation, which has been in Cambria for the past 10 years. We rent a house about 2 blocks from the ocean, and the Horizons campsite was about 5 blocks south of our house. Saw a lot of bikes, including a rat looking sidecar rig, when we ventured out of the house. Last years vacation was interrupted by 3 (outstanding) days of the San Luis Obispo Classic Bike Rally, so I did not go to this Horizon's event, as this year's vacation was to be without motorcycles at my wife's request.
