  1. They named a canyon after me here in AZ. A ride thru Martin Canyon out behind Jerome. https://youtu.be/LLFM9FR9D9Q
  2. It's quite a bit different here in Yavapai County. Something like 40 cases county wide. 1 hospital bed out of 300 occupied by a Covid patient. The hospital and emergency room in Cottonwood is unusually empty. I gotta run, I hear there is toilet paper down at the grocery store.

    Rocky Ride

It is a Cyclops. WAY better than stock. Not as good as a Baja Designs, but less expensive and less weight. https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/KTM-Husky-100-LED-headlight-bulb-kit_p_167.html

    Rocky Ride

Here is a map of the area we were riding. The rocky canyon is due west of Jerome. On that day, Jerome was indeed a ghost town. All the bars and restaurants are closed, so no tourists. On a normal Saturday it is very crowded. Jerome Loop.pdf

GPS Phone APP's Android or iPhone for 2020

Yesterday we did a big ride that included parts of Prescott National Forest. My riding buddy had the MVUM loaded on Avenza on his Kyocera phone. Avenza was very valuable a couple of times during the ride. Not all of the roads and trails were on the other maps / apps he had on his phone. Can you load MVUM onto any of the phone based navigation apps? It was way better having it on the phone than carrying that giant paper map.

GPS Phone APP's Android or iPhone for 2020

I originally posted this in the other Phone GPS thread...Then I saw this one. Any of you guys using Avenza Maps? Any pros / cons? Some of the guys here in AZ that use phones for navigation use it. They like it because some of the National Forest MVUM can be downloaded from the FS web pages to it. Looks like it can record tracks, but not sure if tracks can be loaded into it.

Bagstrs Trivial Mechanical and Equipment Issues

More on the Mahle fuel filter: The newer filters (the ones that split) are made in Turkey. Originally they were made in Austria (maybe less likely to split? I hope.). I had a Turkey filter split on my brand new 2018. KTM fixed that for me. I realized the country of origin change just recently when i changed out the filter. I have a bag of Austrian made filters. Bought it a few years ago before the switch to Turkey.

Bagstrs Trivial Mechanical and Equipment Issues

The dirt tricks article is very good. The way they put tension on the chain when measuring it is something I've never done. Always just measured them on the bench. Not as good as pulling out all the clearance with some force like they describe. Thanks professor.
  12. Doing my part to prevent the spread. Quick out and back.

Check your email. Sent it 3 days ago. Setting for 2018 500exc-f is .400 +/-.001 volts. Probably same for Dan's bike.

    Knee braces or guards?

I have Pod. When I was shopping for braces I tried a number of different brands. Pod had the best fit for me. Moral of the story: Try a few, everybody's legs are different, and knee braces are different shapes.
  17. A fun trip. Thanks guys for making the time to come out.

    30 days

There goes the neighborhood, more of those damn Californian's moving to Arizona.
  19. What are you guys using? I see a few versions of Nagoya antennas NA-701, NA-717, NA771. My guess is that one of these is what I want
  20. Thanks for the gracious invitation to the Arizona residents, but unfortunately I cant make it that day. I will be coming out again in January. No details yet, hope to hook up with the Breakfast Club. Any January ride dates planned yet? After the second quarter of 2020, me and Crawdaddy will carpool to Borrego....when invited, of course.
  21. You guys cannot be replaced. I have new friends in addition to my old friends. I have to stop now.... I'm tearing up.
  22. Hey, I ain't forgot youz guyz. Doing more exploration around Camp Verde. This place has some very challenging trails. Lots of large embedded rocks And some steep climbs. So far I've mapped out a couple of 70ish - 80ish mile loops. Some very hard, Some easy (by AZ standards). Some pics attached from some of the hard ones. The local bike shop recommended the Sedona MX907HP as a rear tire. This thing is amazing, trials tire type traction in the rocks. I do miss riding Anza Borrego now and then. May be staying at a friends place in Ocotillo Wells in January. No dates yet. Having fun in the Zone.
  23. Not yet, not yet! But.......Here is a video of a ride we did Sunday. Quality goes to hell on YouTube, but it gives an idea of the stuff out here. This is the easiest loop I have so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKNC3hOHPF8
  24. Now see.....This makes perfect sense. I'll send you my wife's phone number. You have a way of talking to people that is very convincing.
