In thee mean time, Northern Baja is all hero dirt right now. Compadre’ is is about as high speed as you want to make it. Or not. Road into Mikes is also in great shape and the river is 3 or 4 times its normal width. Heading to San Quentin today for some beach riding. Get some.

Not too much stopping with that kind of mileage but I managed to snag a few pictures. Long, foggy, and rainy drive from San Diego but saw a good omen dropping down to the sunny desert floor. 350thumper usually leads rides out here but wanted to ride sweep today and look for anything that falls off my bike (like me) Doesn't matter how sketchy, 350thumper always volunteers to go first HotRod82 does not hesitate 350thumper peeled off after a late lunch, kicked up a windstorm pinning the 650Large through the sand Nearing the end, well deserved water break Fun ride, awesome meeting you HotRod82 and great to ride with you again 350thumper

I really enjoyed this 7 part YouTube series. It reminded me of the mystery and wonder of discovering Adventure riding. The early years of our sport . . . any sport really are filled with excitement, discovery, hard knocks and hopefully success. It's the honeymoon period and is often the "best" times of the adventure. I both miss these times, and enjoy the present and hopefully my future moto adventures. Hope this series makes someone here smile and remember the "dumb" things we did and risks we took when we were young and broke. Good stuff.

Push bikes always lead to looking malnourished and wirey. Clearly a bad look for men our age. You should abort current mission. Leave the bicycle to some poor village kid and fly home. I’m sure @DSM8 will help you clear the mice and cobwebs out of the crusty Katoom and start parading around the desert with the rest of us under power. We eat donuts and Julian Pie ala mode and drink beer. This prescription will have you back to normal and you’ll have Rosie cheeks again with a proper little pot belly like the rest of us. Nowhere is it written that you have to punish yourself this way and if you insist, I will gladly clear a spot in my garage next to my own forgotten pushie to keep yours happy and retired. Please act your age Kkug…… and send more pictures.

I enjoyed watching that, reminds me of all of the dum-bass stuff I did getting into motorcycles/adventure bikes/etc. Not knowing any better or just not caring.

I'm so stoked for this! Next week me and a group of about 80 navigation rally enthusiasts will meet in the Mojave desert for 5 days of navigation rally. We will ride around 200 miles per day. I spent the last months preparing my KTM 500 EXC for this and last week I rode it into a puddle (more like a pond) and hydrolocked the engine... will need a rebuild now. Not a biggie - I'll take the Desert X. Here's a bit of one of the roadbooks: Here's a picture of the trail one of the roadbook makers took while recording the trail. The desert is in primo conditions!

When I think about how much time and thinking has to go into staging a lot of those shots....my hats off to them. Geesh, I wouldn't have the patience - I just want to ride!

Please don’t take my comment as criticism. We are all looking for our place in the sun. 🌞

When you think of doing your trip June - July? I would like to take four wheel camper. But don't count me in yet. I may need more push bike riding

Hi guys, I cleaned out some of my toolboxes. Here is what I have and like to pass it on to the SDAR community first before I post it on craigslist. 1/4" long and short socket with extension's and ratchets, 90% are CRAFTSMAN tools. some Japan included. $25.00 3/8" long sockets with some extension and ratchet. $35.00 3/8" short sockets with some extension and ratchet. $30.00 1/2" short and long sockets with some extension, cardan joint and ratchet. $35.00 Or all 4 boxes for $100.00 90% of all is CRAFTSMAN. All are in good condition, no scrap metal. Just look at the pictures for a better understanding. Pickup in Ramona, or you pay for shipping.

We had a great day. No rain, but the wind came up later in the day after we stopped for fuel in Salton. The dirt is still really good, the sand is still wet underneath. Turned into a pretty big day at 138 miles....good times!

Forgive me if this has been posted earlier (I've been out of pocket quite a bit this year), ... The movie is playing at San Diego BMW Motorcycles this Saturday night at 7pm. If you want a good look at the route this would be a great place to see it before it finally gets to YouTube about May. I'll see you there! https://www.meetup.com/motorcyclists-of-san-diego/events/298937441/?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=share-btn_savedevents_share_modal&utm_source=link
