This is just an idea we have been throwing around....

Our annual MX Ride for the Cure is scheduled for Oct 2 at Rynoland. This is a charity event with 100% proceeds going to Michelle's Place, a breast cancer resource center.

We are in the planning stages and would like to hold a poker run on the single track trails at Rynoland. We thought that maybe SDAR could get some exposure by helping out with the poker run. Basically being in charge of it. So, there would be a booth, sign up, check points etc... We would supply the prizes of course, but SDAR could give them out.

Just a thought. What do you think? Randy?

Would this be of any interest to club members?

Christi, let's talk more about it. Organized event means insurance ?? Not sure if we'd need it, but organizing something always means liability.

I think people here would like to help out, but I'm not volunteering anyone :o

Let the club members chime in................

And YES, I will help out with whatever we decide to do, and/or help at your event (if I'm not in Europe during that time).

We here at Brown Bag are real big on helping with Breast Cancer research. My Brothers wife and her Mother are both survivors of breast cancer. If Sandwiches can help out get back to me. I will need the flyer and any other paperwork.
I will volunteer to help at the track.

Wow. Thanks for the repsonse everyone. Sounds like this could be do-able. It is October 2 2010.

Liability and insurance won't be an issue since the track already covers that for the day.

This would just be a "volunteer acitivity". Free entry for the volunteers of course. It would be nice to have an EZup with a SDAR banner, etc...

Ok, I will work out some more details. Or if someone has actually put on a poker run, I would like to put them in charge of the "committee".

Suggestions, comments welcome. We have some time. I am counting you guys in!

I put on a poker run every year Christi and have all the resources you need. I also do the awards ceremony afterwards. I'd be happy to jump in and help anyway I can. Food is always a big part of these type of events so we should talk about some kind of dinner as well.
