Thursday at Pounders in Escondido- all night

Saturday in PB- early...830 or so for just an hour, but I'll be hanging out all night since a co+worker(s) is having their pre-reception party that night and he is in the last band

Pounders is fun but small-more of an "almost dive" than a full dive bar

D'OH! Club 710- right next to the Pier...very romantic; except for the bums, drunk college kids and dirty bikers

Hey! I used to play the trumpet!

Never forget the first class I had......teacher asked me to play a couple of notes......so I blasted out the game charge! Teacher just about flew off her chair.

You had to pick the only night of the year (so far) that I'm going out of town to come to my neck of the woods and put on a show. Damn you Vegas!

I'm not even there yet and I'm already cursing it.

Ummm, dont underestimate Pounders Bob, its a full dive bar with really good bands. If you find a girl with a full grill sheees a keeper. Its a biker bar and Im there every Friday when " Cruzin Grand " starts back up in April and runs thru October, Its a hotrod thing. Its super close to my house. I will ride over tonight.

thanks for the correction Steve... I guess I have been in worse bars than you have *shock*

reference points that elevate Pounders-

Brick by Brick (The Spirit at the time); playing during a storm and there is a full on waterfall pouring through the roof... owners throwing towels on the floor so nobody slips. close the bar? close the dancs floor? send the band home? Hell no... people are here and they're drinking; we're staying open

A bar in SF- a guy pulls his bike in to the bar and fires it up (straight pipes/V twin) everybody thinks this is cool, and talk him in to doing a burn out... which promptly launches him in to the opposite wall

so- what is "below" a ive bar?

See you there

To everybody else in North County that wants to come watch some time... I'll post the next one. I don't post all of our gigs here, since I play so often you would get bored.... uh.... more bored

Quote from Bikeslut

There is a red & white bar called "Dumonts" in El Cajon. A friend of mine name Pete owns the place. Its a well known bar for doing burnouts inside on your Harley. I had the honor to do a burnout after new lanolium was put down. I did a little burnout and everyone laughed and then Pete directed me between the pool tables and down the hall all the while draggin my front brake. This was years ago on a 1994 FXR Harley.

Just got home but they are still going. It was awsome and the big screen TVs had the olympics going. Rachel Flat took to the ice at about 11:00pm just when Lor Jane started to wail " set me free " almost looked choreographed and Rachel nailed her exhibition.

Any youtube clips or other website with your music on it?

Good stuff Bob, that second clip would be very welcome at the San Diego Swing Dance Club.

A big "Thank You" goes out to the Tighten Ups for putting on a great show. The place was rockin' !

If anyone has a chance to see these folks play some music, by all means, go see them.

from the same band... I have been asking them to go more THIS direction, and he is inclined to go Old School Soul... while it is good music, it is too easy to ignore and too hard to dance to.... but what do I know? I just play trumpet

A “red and white” biker bar in El Cajon next to a “Club House”. I wonder if that has any significance? Nah, I’m sure it doesn’t! But I don’t think that Trophy or I would be real welcome there.

Dumonts has been closed for a while...almost 2 years now...And the owner has the only liquor license left in el cajon, but he got conivicted on a felony, so now the license is tied up, and no bars can open up. Just FYI.

And yes, my dad's burnout is there too.

I wasn't worried about her horn being warm...I was concerned about her legs...seriously; her skirts are basically belts...

We are playing North Park on Wednesday- it is LJs birthday, and all pisces get a door prize as they enter...all non pisces are required to bring a door prize
