    Crawdaddy "Clubs" Ride

Sunday's ride was another fun filled day of new to me trails. Met up with Farmer on the way out and enjoyed a nice meal at the Oatman Hotel. Thanks again for the work on setting this all up Crawdaddy. Tracks were excellent and easy to follow.

    Crawdaddy "Clubs" Ride

Eric and myself had a great ride both Friday and Saturday. Weather was crisp and had a nice breeze to keep the dust off the trail both days. Friday we departed a little earlier than the group and unfortunately we needed to get back to Havasu to make a few Dr. appointments so we hussled and didn't end up seeing anyone else on the trail. Rode all the hard tracks with the single line ridges and it was just pure fun!! The ride back from Searchlight was full of amazing views and some fun high speed graded road. GPS ended up at 135 miles and we made it back to Havasu it's time to spare.
  3. Raining in Parker/Lake Havasu now. Radar shows rain over on the Bullhead/Laughlin area. ??
  4. I have one confirmed coming with me for Friday's ride and two for Saturday's ride. I have a few more maybes, should I cap it at 3-4 guys? Difficulty level on Fridays ride? Thanks for putting this together, looking forward to it.
  5. I'm in for sure. Nice little PTO trail day for Friday.
  6. I'm in. Mind if I bring a buddy or two? A few of us Havasu guys have been wanting to ride over there.

Looks like you found a few of our local trail hounds over on the California side. Nice pictures and great report.

Desert bar IS closed for the summer but there are lots of great trails off the main road. Some easy, some extreme. Another easy ride is out to Swansea, http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/az/swansea.html California side is great as well. Stage at Crossroads OHV http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/california_03680/ride_6934.html +1 on Crawdaddy's weather report!! Hoping for a repeat of a few weeks ago. PM sent with my number if you get into trouble. I'll be riding in Havasu Saturday, working Sunday.

    First time to Borrego

Looks like the rest of the ride was awesome!! I'll surely be looking for the next ride. Had my spare set of wheel bearings installed by 8:00 pm yesterday and went for a little sunset island ride after work today.
  12. I've been putting in a lot of extra hours at work and have not been able to do much riding in the last few weeks, which in my opinion is just not healthy. So while lurking around the informal ride forum I spotted CiD's invite to his breakfast club ride. A quick check of ole Google Maps came back at a little over 3 hours to Kendall's in Borrego Springs. Not to bad I thought. Three hours down, fun 100 mile ride on some new trails with some new people and three hours home. So first order of business was to clear it with Mrs. Lost in Lake Havasu. Being preoccupied with her "Girls" trip to Frisco, a simple nod was all I got and that was good enough for me. Next was the Boss. Nice thing about PTO is he really can't say much as long as the facility is running smooth and I'm within cell service, to which I of course said "yep". I was set, locked in my post that I'd be there and did a quick pre ride "shake" down, more on that later, loaded up and hit the hay early. Popped out of bed at a brisk 3:00 am and was Borrego bound by 3:45. Nice uneventful drive, always wanted to see where Cottonwood Canyon went, took it into Mecca and got to Kendall's at 7:30. Ended up being five of us for breakfast and the ride. CiD, vanjoosten, bushwacker, HotRod82 and myself headed out from the parking lot. Stopped for a photo op. Weather was perfect and there was just enough wind to keep the dust off the trail and keep the pace fairly brisk. I had wired my helmet for a radio and Chris was kind enough to loan me his spare set up, bad idea, now I have to buy one. Thanks again Chris. Was nice having communications, also more on that later. The route CiD had laid out was fast and had flow to it, best part was not a lot of rocks!! Normally I run a Go Pro but for some dang reason it just didn't want to cooperate so I did not get any video/pictures. Well, this was the end of the ride for me and my new buddy bushwacker aka Paul. After 35 miles I felt something a miss in the rear of my bike and stopped to take a look. This is where the radios are awesome, let CiD know I had an issue and we all were able to stay together. Upon further inspection we discovered my rear wheel bearings, specifically the left side, were toast!!! What now? After a little brain storming and not having to resort to rock, paper, scissors, Paul volunteered to slab back and get my truck, saving my bacon!!! I owe you BIG time bushwacker!!! Thank you again. So the rest of the breakfast club headed off to finish the ride and Paul returned shortly to retrieve me and the bike. I ended up passing the other three on the way out of Boreggo so I know they made it back. Got home and tore into the bike, also found a loose spoke. Funny thing is I mounted a new tire 300 miles ago and the bearings seemed fine. My usual "shake" the wheels and suspension test didn't show any signs either. Anyway, I'm a glass half full kind of guy, could have been way worse! Riding solo, very technical trail ect. Want to say thanks again to Chris for being trail boss and it was nice to meet and ride with the other riders, Eric, Pual and Rodney, in the group.
