    African Twin

Anyone interested in getting a Red Manual Africa Twin??? I was next up on a wait-list at South Bay Motorsports and got a call yesterday telling me one will be in this week. I was able to get one a few weeks ago and told the salesman Ted- I would pass this on.. It will go quick so if your interested- give Ted a call at 619-420-2300 and tell him Tim sent you. Also....some douche-bag dealers are marking these up way over MSRP and and South Bay is not. Next shipments are not due until l;ate August or early Sept. This is a fantastic bike. You snooze ..you Loose.

    2016 Big Bike Shoot-Out

I have been comparing the Tiger to the AT.....and enjoying every minute. So far the Tiger still has a slight edge for sportiness on the pavement- the triple still has the fun factor on acceleration and handling in the twisties- but the AT is really doing well in all other categories. I rode with a few other big bikes last weekend up in Big Bear and it really is a smooth riding machine. Hoping all the crap I have on order for the AT comes in real soon so I can do some more off-road comparisons.....been holding back a little in that department.

It was worth all the waiting....smooth power, nice suspension, and..............IT'S NOT ORANGE There will be a real nice 2013 Triumph Tiger 800XC for sale real shortly Made a run up to Big Bear and Back to break in the motor

    Baileys Cabin - Sunday 12-20

I used to make that run too - Its closed just past the Cabin to below the middle willows. Does not see the same traffic as the bottom. a couplke of fun side canyons as well.
  12. Itchin' to Ride and Praying for Rain. Thinking about riding from Anza down upper Coyote Canyon to Baileys Cabin on Sunday- riding my 450- - It is Big Bike doable - but only if you are experienced and comfortable riding in deep sand and rocks. Prefer small plated bikes for this ride due to possible change of conditions if it rains Saturday. Please rain hard Would be aiming for 9:00 am start from near the Post Office in Anza.
  13. One of my work projects has me back in New Mexico for the entire Month of November again this year. This time, I decided to bring both bikes and was sure glad I did. The dirt biking around here is wide-open and real fun. Spending my free time riding the Continental Divide on the Tiger and the Overland Stage route on the CRF. Really interested in the history around here and its all over if you look. My brother came out for a weekend and we put some big miles in riding between Las Cruces and the Mexican Border - tons of fun sandy washes to blast in. They got a ton of rain in late October and the conditions almost too perfect to ride in. Here are some pic's- not in order- but a sample of the scenery Pinos Altos and along the Continental Divide- I am pretty sure the NMBDR route will be going near here- Lots of long double tracks that follow the CDthrough the Gila NF. They also have re-introduced the Mexican Grey Wolf - would like to see one-from a distance. An old stage stop between Las Cruces and Deming Camping in the Gila NF - Bring warm gear. Coyotes are not well liked by the Ranchers here-sure glad it wasnt a wolf. A stop in Hatch NM to have one of Sparkys World Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers is always a must Got a few more weeks left and lots to still see and ride. Good thing is I will be back for another month next year. These days- I can honestly say my job doesn't suck.
  14. Wow- I really want to ride that area - full of great history. Out of State work has allowed me to Moto-Cowboy bits of the Overland Stage Route route from Las Cruces NM into the Tuscon area on the weekends. Next Month- I will be back in NM section riding the Trail from Las Cruces North to Santa Fe along the Camino Del Diablo ( and sneaking in some of the NMBDR where I think it might be). The Pony Express Trail is also high on my list and that should get me up in that area some day. Thanks for sharing!!!
  15. yep- Those guys I politely told to move-on and find another spot to camp that night were camped right below us. I got the stink eye from a few of them on my way out- and gave it right back. . The real circus was just down the road at the big group site at Stump Springs. There was about 25-30 vehicles parked all along the road and jack-asses with long guns wandering around. I stopped at one of the overlooks- and could see at least half a dozen orange vests down in and around the trees. So- out of a selfish sense of self-preservation - I decided not to take the turn for the east route down and rode as far as I could to the top of Toro Peak- Just a FYI- they have closed the gate just below the top saddle. So its a 1/2 mile hike to get to the top. Was nice to put faces to screen names and hope to ride with you guys again.
