Sunday 8/15 Run

Thanks to all for a great ride. Thanks especially to DD for leading the ride, and taking out 2 pesky Kawi 250's at once. Way to take one (two) for the team. From Poway back to Poway I put in 210 miles, had to brave the freeway w/my 450 for the last 20 miles because I couldn't bear anymore seat time. I will post some pics soon.

I will leave it to him to explain why I was draining the precious life blood from my bike in order to give his an emergency transfusion.

More photos to follow in the morning.

Nice to meet everyone, sorry I had to cut my ride short. Went riding with 1kstep in the afternoon, ended up with a long day in the saddle. Can't wait to see the pics.

It was a great day of riding. Weather was good, but the views were excellent. 220 on the odometer. Left the house 6:45 when the sun was rising, arrived home about 6:45 as sun was setting. Told my wife it was going to be a short ride (OUCH). Thanks to Doug for leading. He had the misfortune to take a head on for us. I think the damage was all straightened out in the end. It was very dusty. Took some pics and will post if they are better/ different. I am beat. Now back to my lecture.

DigDug's KTM 950 Adventure slide tackles two Kawasakis, idiot runs out of gas and considers stealing a mountain bike in the middle of nowhere until a philosophy professor saves the day with a water bottle and fuel from a 1984 Honda, and a mountain top view that could see Riverside, San Diego, OC, LA, the ocean and Catalina, good conversations at lunch. This was a good, long scenic dual sport ride. Thanks guys.

I didn't forget the gas. It was on my mind during the drive out. Then I saw u guys rolling up 10 minutes early and to avoid being more than 5 minutes late I estimated that I had enough gas and if not I could borrow from one of the large tanks around, which is what happened. The moral of the story is rush if you have to - don't rush if you don't have to.

Huh?........the moral of the story is always remember these two important rules of dualsporting........never pass up gas (bike) or water (body).......especially if you're at all uncertain regarding the duration/location of ride......

Lotta guys with big tanks (Including me on the KTM 620 Adv) aren't gonna fill them all the way up due to weight for a short ride. Why carry an extra 30 lbs of gas if you don't need it??
