I had so much fun riding the DD that I thought I would ride a portion of Sunday's ride on my BRP with the new Gutz seat.
Started at camp off of Split Mt. - up Fish Creek to Diablo - down the washes past the caves to S2 - Rodriguez - Banner Grade to S2 - Pinyon Mtn. back to Fish Creek. Explored down quite a few washes until the BRP would not fit anymore.
Ended up walking through a wash to the end where it starts at the base of the mountains. Beautiful out there right now........lots of green.

Rode through Sandstone Canyon...turned around and headed back to camp. Great time and great views!

You guys are so much better at editing your videos and actually remember to turn your camera on. But, I made an attempt.......here is my first video with music.........careful! The music may stick in your head all day :o

The area looks so pretty! Can't wait for those desert wild flowers to bloom. We should get a bumper crop this year with all the rain.

Mike,

Thanks for the video. Now I have a destination for next Saturday. I can't believe I haven't been up Sandstone Cyn! Rode by many times. It is just south of Olla Wash, correct? The topography appears to to be somewhat different than the surrounding areas.

Nice route you picked.

Good question.......can't really remember where Olla wash is in comparison to Sandstone.........but, the enterance to Sandstone is right about........

this is one way in and same way out......wish we would not have spent all the time walking the other wash and spent some time walking down the end of Sandstone where you cannot ride any further.
At least it leaves an invitation for a later date for more exploring.

Hoss314,

Yes that is the Sandstone Canyon I know of that is just south of Olla W and about 2 miles northwest of the Diablo turn off Fish Creek. Olla terminates at the Mud Palisades.

Seat was MUCH nicer than stock.....it does need to be broke in a bit more. I also went with the tall soft

Looking at that picture, Olla must have been the wash we walked down after riding as far as possible.
