Crawdaddy 96 Posted December 15, 2008 Twas 10 days before Christmas and all through the house......EVERYONE was stirring, even the F^&*'n mouse......Why? ......they were Rockin' to Gary Hoey!!! Snaildarter, Strega and I went to a smokin' hot Christmas concert last Friday.......sounds weird huh? .......hard to picture smokin' hot guitar licks applied to Christmas tunes.......but Gary Hoey gives Christmas music a whole new sound/vibe.......he was in town at the Jumping Turtle last Friday and we were lucky enough to catch the "Sled of Shred" show..... Check out this video of Gary playing “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” on a Boston news station on Wednesday of last week: http://www.myfoxboston.com/myfox/pages/Ins...mp;pageId=5.2.1 Another video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ElLtgZXX30...feature=related Anyway, thought I'd share if you've never heard of him and you're ready to update your Christmas CD collection………Christmas music was never the same around my house after I picked up my first "Ho Ho Hoey" CD almost 10 years ago......my kids have grown up listening to his rockin' covers of traditional Christmas tunes in addition to the standard versions..... You can pick up his "Best of" Ho Ho Hoey CD from his website: http://garyhoey.com/discography/ho-ho-hoey...ete-collection/ Happy Holidays & Rock On!

Chief Gunner 2 Posted December 15, 2008 I was born on Dec 31st and I got my namesake from not only the Bible but my Dad's favorite Christmas special with the title to this song. It's much more mellow than your post probably called for but David Bowie used to rock! My Dad's been gone for nearly 20 years now and yes I get watery eyed when I see a Christmas tree and hear the original and think of how much I miss him... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zMhSjDqvRs Remember who is the reason for this season ! We hung around after and now have an autographed Gary Hoey CD to play for Xmas. Thanks for putting Hoey on my radar!
