Bagstr 287 Posted October 4, 2018 Conditions on the ground in Anza Borrego are extremely dry. The hard pack tracks are slick and hard. The sand is very soft and light. We played in some sand dunes on the extreme west side of the park and it was like Colorado Powder. I went to high on one ridge and the powder just ate me up. Mark took a less radicle line and powered through. The whole place still needs a serious soak!! Nothing from this Rosa Storm. Over in the Buttes area, Slot Canyon Road, there were many Ocotillos that had just given up and fallen over to the ground. Evidently even these desert adapted plants have a limit to how many dry years they will tolerate. Sad to See
