Drooler's Delight write up (really fun day)

Recommended Posts

It's been a while, and it felt great to get out with some good old friends, and a new one (soon to be SDAR member) Mike on a KTM 690.

More to follow after dinner.

A good day ensued with Dirt Dame, Mike (new guy), Uncle Champ, friend Dave & myself heading out Boulder Creek Rd. to start the ride.

We we're looking for serious droolers Wierdrider & Mac Duncan who missed the meetup. Taking a short break, we made contact and they caught up quickly.

It was a good trail through Cedar Creek, although familiar, it's an impressive canyon to ride though every time.

After a short break at the Eagle Peak connection, it was off to Nickle Beer Co.

The KKug rendezvous with us right on time at the Nickle Beer Co.  I don't know of anything sweeter than to have a cold beer with good buddies after some miles on a dusty trail. For me, it just doesn't get any better than that.

From there, it was off to the next dirt section off S1, Deer Park Rd., another staple in our summer diet.

We came across 350thumper on Deer Park Rd., no surprise, and talked briefly. He was off solo again at his race pace getting his share.

Once we hit Pine Valley, we all pretty much scattered like Quail, but I encouraged a few that one last beer was in order. A final dirt run down Viejas Grade to Alpine Beer Co. put the cap on the day.

Nothing too difficult, I finished up at 99.5 miles, just a great day to be a rider. Living the Dream.

Thanks to everyone who joined in.

Very nice, I would love to do this ride the next time. Is there a GPX file or can someone share the route taken?

Nice video Thumper. You REALLY are a madman.

Huntndogs: I'll see if I can get that one off my GPS and get it to you.

Great ride Wildwood, your leadership was appreciated, thank you, and great riding with a bunch of good folks.  A midday brew in the mountains after riding on some dirt was just what the doctor ordered... and it looks like a few of you had 2 stops for brew - nice. Wildwood, if that is your break-in speed, you must really get going when you open the throttle :)  .  Cheers.

The Golden Fattie front tire is amazing, I'm sold on it for sure now. I was feeling very secure in the front and letting it roll with the new higher gearing. Always great to get to ride with you John.

Hey all,

I got through the registration process and am now a member. That was a great ride and I really enjoyed meeting and riding with you all. Looking forward to doing it again.
