it's a sad day at casa de gadbois...

up for sale is an '03 640 adv with 42k miles, $2300. let me know if i'm way off.

the good:

she's not pretty, but she's well sorted. new top end around 32k. newly rebuilt carb following motolab's (from advrider) advice, cam follower bearings were just replaced. hdb handguards and top plate, tusk risers. runs solidly, once started. which brings us to...

the bad:

she's well sorted, but she's not pretty. i've had a tough-to-start issue with the bike, but with tntmo's help (thanks tom, you're aces!), we narrowed it down to the starter sprag clutch. the bike was running and idling today. i'm looking into fixing this before the bike gets sold, so i can ask for more ca$h... but i also need it gone. this bike has hit the deck more than once. rear blinker needs replacing, but the mounting hole is wallowed out in the plastic. the rear fender was burned by the exhaust. i prolly should've washed it before taking photos, but i didn't.

I'll vouch for everything posted, except for the part where he said I helped.  I mostly cracked jokes and got JG in  trouble with his wife.

Once we got the bike going, it ran well and was starting with one kick.  The starter sprag clutch is my best uneducated guess as to what's wrong with the bike.   It's not expensive or difficult to change, so I suggest getting it at a deal if you're interested.
