Plaster/Windmill ride Sat 2/10

Recommended Posts

Meeting a few friends next Saturday to ride next Saturday.  We will be meeting near Plaster city, heading south of 8 then looping north west of the windmills.  Hit S2 then circle back for lunch in Ocotillo.  This is the southern most part of what used to be Saturdays Dash route.  Nothing too tough with a moderate speed.  Its a fun loop.  Anyone who wants to tag along is welcome. We will be meeting at 9 am where Dunaway road hits Even Hughes Hwy.

450s. 2 ktm, 1 Honda and a yamaha. The loop is probably 25% sand and the rest hard pack.

It's probably  about  40 to 50 miles max depending on how much wandering around we do. Should be back to ocotillo by noon to 1. Not a huge ride but it's a fun loop.  My last ride before doing pre-dash maintenance.

Ken S. Sounds good.  Hope you can make it.

As long as my bike comes back from C&D I'm in. Steve said Thursday afternoon.

Good deal, HowsAbout.

For anyone coming, take Dunaway Rd  off the Hwy 8 and head north to where it hits Evan Hughes.  Cross Evan Hughes and there is a flat area right there that we will be parked.  I should be there between 8-8:30.  Hope to be on the trail by 9:15 or so.  If you are coming and running late just text me and let me know.  Supposed to be only 83 in El Centro on Saturday so should be a great day for a ride.

I would like to tag along if you let old guys join up.

Depends on what you mean by old.  I'm 58 and still in my prime.  As long as we don't have to help you move from your walker to your bike, you are good to go.

I have ridden with a cane strapped to my pack.

I like it.  Useful for hitting snakes or younger riders clogging the trail.

Does this ride require a plated bike?

Yes. We are on S2 for a bit on the way back.

Radios?

If anyone has one, bring it.  I have one but need to get a new helmet set up.  If we had a couple in the group, it wouldn't hurt.
