Belgium through Philly in San Diego for now ...

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm Dries Van Loon (31) I live in San Diego since the beginning of this year. I met, I think Eric (WR450) and his wife (other bike) on a trail down cottonwood couple weeks ago Sunday. He mention the forum..
I currently have 2x DR650, one for me one for my friends who come and ride..

Did the TransAmerica trail (Philly to San Diego (where I live now) last year with a friend, what a blast and great way to see this country.

5 years ago, I drove my Africa Twin (RD04, 1991) from Belgium to Thailand (20.000 miles 5 month epic trip). On the same Michelin  rear tire  all the way by the way..

Currently trying to take every opportunity to explore the greater california area (Baja, Nevada, Arizona, ...) on my DR, and slowly preparing to do the alaska - patagonia..

Looking forward to be part of the SD riders community..

Dries

Some impressions of my trips, warning I'm not a great photographer, and I the fanciest camera I own is my phone:

That's really cool.  It's funny how some of the places around the world look just like Borrego and other routes within about 200 miles of here.  No disrespect, those are some hard earned miles and very impressive. Well done.

Dries,

Hello.  Welcome to San Diego and the SDAR forum!  I enjoyed watching your videos.  Thank you for sharing.

I am looking forward to meeting you at one of the meetings or during a ride sometime.

Take care & ride safely. (I think you will love San Diego!)

David

Dries, welcome to our community.

I'd love to meet u for a beer and talk about your plans.

My dog and I are headed to into Mexico and South America soon, then the rest of the world. Maybe we'll meet on the road also.

We'll be in MX for at least 6 months, in Central and South America at least another year.
