All the functions of the phone work.  Text, email, internet, calls.  There are sometimes weird connectivity issues, but for the most part, everything works the same as at home.

I was about to add the $2 daily Mexico service to my Verizon plan but upgraded to "The New Verizon Plan".  For just under $10 more a month I'm getting 12gb of data instead of 10gb, carrryover data and Mexico/Canada service included.  My plan has 2 phones w/shared data, might be less of an increase for single phone plan.
