Bagstr 287 Posted February 25, 2015 Just for good measure, there is a rumor out that KTM / Pierer are about to buy struggling Gas Gas. http://www.enduro360.com/2015/02/25/featured/ktm-to-buy-gas-gas/ Isn't the recall about the Air Forks?? Edit: My mistake, there are no air forks, recall on 4 chamber closed units.
Bp619 104 Posted February 25, 2015 no the recall is for the 4cs forks and according to gpmotorcycles when I bought mine only about 50 bikes were affected and should have been caught before sale
REV5 0 Posted February 25, 2015 They are tightening the piston rod and screw cap before sale. Its all good.
Suspenders 43 Posted February 28, 2015 Not sure about the details of the recall. When taking the 4cs apart the base valve piston will sometimes unscrew and is already disassembled when taking the base valve out. Just got a call on a 4cs that has lost damping suddenly. We may see this fork or the owner may trade the bike in for a new model with a different fork. In time with proper mods the fork will be a really good fork. Going to have to add adjusters on the bottom of the fork that they omitted to save $. We have the valving working really well but will not go after the new base valves for a year or so as we have too much on the plate currently. That being said are they going to replace it with an air fork soon?
